TBone (4566), Pori, Finland Apr 22, 2008 Bottled (BB 06/2009)
Dark ruby color, big creamy beige head. Caramel, hops and blackcurrant in the nose. Quite watery palate, foamy carbonation. Light, not really caramelly or fruity as usual dubbel, but more dry, blackcurrant leaf hoppy. Some Rodenbach-tartness. Earthy notes. Light alcohol in the aftertaste. Quick and easy brew. And yes, the label is very beautiful.
joohefner (379), Isla Vista, California, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours a murky brown-maroon color with thin tan frothy head. It has a light sweet chocolate and phenol aroma. Smooth body with a slight stickiness. Caramel and chocolate flavor with some tart cherries and a light spiciness. The tartness is unexpected and makes me wonder whether it was a bad bottle or a flemish influence. Drinkable but lacks depth. iosonomarco (38), Milano, Italy Jun 2, 2008 L’unico difetto è la leggerezza del corpo.
