Old_Mr_Crow (1043), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 14, 2006 From the bottle.
Explodes out of the bottle with a geyser of brown foam, pouring caramel brown with a tan head into my glass. The aroma is a somewhat unpleasant, almost infected-smelling, dominated by malt vinegar. The flavor is actually not half-bad: less vinegary than expected from the aroma, bits of grape bubblegum, some cherry lambic, a bitter woody finish. The palate lies well on the thin side, to the point that one is a little disappointed with each sip.
Curious mix of flavors but otherwise mediocre.

OK BoBoChamp (732), Gent, Belgium Jul 20, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, easy to drink, yet complex, clear, rocky head, nice brew joohefner (379), Isla Vista, California, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours a murky brown-maroon color with thin tan frothy head. It has a light sweet chocolate and phenol aroma. Smooth body with a slight stickiness. Caramel and chocolate flavor with some tart cherries and a light spiciness. The tartness is unexpected and makes me wonder whether it was a bad bottle or a flemish influence. Drinkable but lacks depth.
