Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Feb 23, 2004 (Draught)

The beer pours a slightly hazy mahogany color with a smallish off white head that is frothy in texture; the lace is adequate to cover the glass. Nose has a sweet and sour aroma, hint of yeast, crisp and clean to the senses, start is tart and the top thin in its feel. Finish is acerbic, fair hop profile, sour and very dry aftertaste, can’t really say it was bad, but really not a good representative to the style in my humble opinion.

OK BoBoChamp (804), Gent, Belgium Jul 20, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, easy to drink, yet complex, clear, rocky head, nice brew joohefner (379), Isla Vista, California, USA Jul 2, 2008 Pours a murky brown-maroon color with thin tan frothy head. It has a light sweet chocolate and phenol aroma. Smooth body with a slight stickiness. Caramel and chocolate flavor with some tart cherries and a light spiciness. The tartness is unexpected and makes me wonder whether it was a bad bottle or a flemish influence. Drinkable but lacks depth.
