11.2 oz bottle: Pale yellow pour with a rising white cap that sticks all around. The nose is delicate, but complex, with notes of light caramel, fresh white bread, watery honey, cereal and distant grass. The medium-mouthfeel and moderate carbonation releases more of the hop character onto the tongue. Notes of grass and pine lead the way as more creamy caramel and buttery bread follow. Very clean from start to finish - a nice example of the pilsener style.

33cL Bottle at the Michigan House Cafe - Calumet, MI. Light grassy hop nose, lemon-tinged malt and a bit of alcohol in the aroma. Pours a slightly hazy yellow, with a clean white soap lacing the glass. Flavor is a decent blend of faint bready pils malt, some juicy hops and water. No metallic bitterness, skunkiness or soap. This is a clean, mildly flavor, pleasantly hop-dappled pilsener. Very refreshing, rather clean and quenching. Underrated, in my opinion. Because it’s nice to get a fresh, balanced pils every once and a while.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2009 Great pilsner. I don’t get that lager taste that i get with most European lagers.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2008 I’ve been waiting to try a bavik.....since 1894! 11.2 oz brown bottle. Pop lid for a veggie skunk plant aroma. After pour, aroma clears to yeasty grin. Slightly cloudy pale yellow. A hard cement bite is on the initial flavor hit. This is followed by an industrial flavor that I can appreciate. It has the affection of a wit or a hefe. Finish is rather nice and non-offensive without bitterness. Easily enjoyable, I liked this better than Urquell.

I found myself enjoying the sweetness and refreshing crispness of this beer. Very soft on the palate, light and refreshing. Somewhat grassy taste but clean. Could be consumed in large amounts on a hot day. Very refreshing!

A good pils. Different than the other Belgium beers I've tried. This one was not as yeasty. It was very light but it had good flavor. I would recommend it.

Bottle pours a translucent straw color, large white pillow of a head, soft carbonation, with very sticky lacing.   Sweet grass, malts, slight grain on the nose.   Somewhat sweet up front, followed by malty & grassy flavor.   Not as crisp or refreshing as I was expecting from a pilsner, but its rather full bodied with a good mouthfeel.   A heavier Pilsener, and there is nothing wrong with that.   Finishes with a sweet grassy malt flavor.   Not bad!

This is the last beer from my BelgianShop package. Not bad at all. This Pilsner is quite interesting. Slightly cloudy pale golden color. Good carbonation. Nice crisp, somewhat fruity flavor. Not overly hopped. Truely a league above Stella!

Fluffy white head and neon lemon body with significant carbonation. Lemon citrus aroma with fresh hay-like notes and a hint of bubble gum. Odd for a pilsner, but pleasant smelling. Flavor has a light nutty malt character with more citrus. Mostly dry with some definite bitterness in the finish, making this very crisp. Good hot weather refresher. The low ratings perplex me a bit. I enjoyed this on each of the three occasions I’ve had it.
