3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz can into a switchback pint. Pours a dark orange brown/red with decent foamy head to cover. Aroma is spicey, bourbon aged, and malty. Taste is spicey, excitingly so as there seems to be so much bouncing around, as is the pepper, citurs, oak charateristics, and the hop presence. Almost too much though for a harvest, I dont think I was ready for all of this. But after endulging this seems to be just fine by me. Baxter is one of the next up and coming micro brews out of Maine. A fine brew here.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Single can from Julio’s. Re-packaged as "Hayride Spiced Rye Ale". Pours out a murky amber with a thick frothy light tan head. Good lacing. Pleasant herbal-spice aromas. Flavor profile is very good. Peppery rye, piney hops, ginger spice, vanilla, caramel malts are all well balanced. Short bittersweet spicy finish. Reminds me of a light bodied Arrogant Bastard or a Belgian amber.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can, unsure of date, assumedly fairly fresh, drunk 1/13/16.
Highly clear, light amber to golden body is topped by a medium-sized white head that quickly fades to a ring.
Light herbal/grassy hops with a touch of juju fruit-like character, some rye spiciness and a touch of iced tea character. I think I smell the ginger, which does actually lift the aroma up somewhat, as the hops are not present in very high quantity. Yet nor is there anything wrong with what’s here (don’t get any oak, and the spices are not overdone at all). No alcohol or flaws.
Very straightforward in the flavor, moderately sweet, with various spice notes from rye, hop, pepper, ginger, etc...A touch of light butteriness from the oak, with herbal and grassy hop notes on the end and low bitterness overall. Quite homogenous, actually. Having not read the deScription, I didn’t realize there were any adjuncts in here at all. Carbonation is moderate with no alcohol noted.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355 ml can. Pours a cloudy copper-amber with a creamy, resilient beige head. Aroma is wood, pepper, caramel and roast. Flavor is pepper, caramel, roast, spice. Finish is roast, caramel, spice, herbal. Dry. Lingering earthy notes. Medium to full body, velvety mouthfeel and average carbonation. Very surprising.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at stags head. Fine Amber pour sudsy head. Nose is peppery and malt. Tastes of pepper, malty, caramel, woody, hint of orange peel some rue spice. I get no ginger which I’m thankful for. Dry finish hits backlog throat with some stickiness. Refreshing autumn brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz can from a mixed 12pack from Xroads. Poured a hazy orangey deep amber with a foamy lasting light beige head. Aroma is odd, celery at first followed by spice, dough, chocolate malts, orange, rye. Flavor is still odd but better, toast, spice, rye, light pepper and a hint of orange peel. Nice mouthfeel, bigger, strong tight bubbly carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can from Bert’s
Fairly clear reddish amber color with a frothy off white head. Peppery spicy bready aromas with hints of brown sugar. Lots more malt in the flavor; big caramel and brown sugar with hints of chocolate. Peppery spicy pine cuts through the sweetness quite well. Lingering light ginger and drying wood tannin long after each sip. Its a bit different, and beats the hell out of any pumpkin based autumn ale.
