COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A heavily-hopped, West Coast-style IPA. Bold, complex flavors with a solid malt backbone and assertive hop profile, along with cold conditioning give this beer its crisp, clean finish.

Pours a hazy amber from a can, sweet piney aroma, metallic bitter flavor, thin mouthfeel. Meh.

Very hooped, but not obnoxiously. Nice roasted malt provides a good foil for the piney bitterness. Good effort from Baxter, my first from them.

They are calling this West Coast style, but seems a little closer to an English style IPA. Lighter orange semi-cloudy appearance. Malt to hop balance leaning more towards the malts on this one. Some bitter citrus in the aroma and finish. I’ve tried four of Baxter’s brews now in their 12-pack vareity, and I usually judge a new brewery that I try on their IPA. I’d say that these guys are good and above average, but not great.

Can (12 oz) bought @ Bier Cellar (Portland, ME). Shared @ Hotel Room Tasting.

Appearance: Clear amber with a small off-white head and little lacing.

Aroma: Caramel, earthy notes, leafy hops, a bit of soap and spicy wood.

Taste: Caramel, soap (a tad more than in the aroma), earthy notes, cedar, leafy notes and mild bitterness.

Palate: Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Earthy and cedar finish.

Overall: Decent. Lack a bit of balance and drinkability. An easy one to forget.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2015
Location: 12 oz can from Nikki’s Liquor, 4/5/15

Aroma: The aroma is citrus, pine, and resin, with a good amount of caramel malt.
Appearance: It pours an amber color, murky, with an off-white head and rather heavy lacing.
Flavor: Medium-plus bitter, citrus, pine, resin, and a strong caramel malt backbone for the style.
Palate: Medium-plus body, soft-to-average carbonation, and a clean, dry finish.
Overall Impression: This is a pretty nice one. It has a bigger than expected malt backbone, and plenty of hop bitterness to hold up to it. Good beer.

12oz can bought at Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury, VT. The guys from the brewery were there hawking their wares, and who was I to say no? Poured into a Shaker, bright orange colour with a 1cm head that stuck around a good long while. Classic IPA aromas - citrus, pine resin, tropical spices (mace, cloves, maybe a hint of anise) and a biscuity, bready note underneath. Pleasantly bitter, not imperial/double in-your-face bitter but bitter nonetheless, with a good, slightly sweet malt heart. Lively carbonation, crisp finish with a piney aftertaste that begs another sip. An excellent representation of the style - I’d buy more.
