A heavily-hopped, West Coast-style IPA. Bold, complex flavors with a solid malt backbone and assertive hop profile, along with cold conditioning give this beer its crisp, clean finish.

GBBF. Hazy amber beer, tidy off white head. Light semi dry palate. Mild fine carbonation. Lovely juicy hops - marmalade with fresh hop sting. Red berry fruits. Pine and grass. Semi dry finish. Hop sting linger. Very drinkable and quite lovely.

Love the artwork, find the beer itself to be rather plain and boring. Was poured sample serving at Leary’s Grand Tasting a few hours earlier. Pours an orangey color with a quickly-dimisishing head. Too Amarillo-bitter, IMHO, but it was nicely balanced between malt and hops used.

Aroma: Nose fully of complex west coast hop fruit - passion fruit, mango tropicals most pronounced. Appearance: Bright orange to light brown w/ unfiltered haze. Taste: Great complex hop flavor with a perfect complementary malt light sweetness. Palate: Full bodied hop punch with just enough malty background to support it. Overall: One of, if not the best truly balanced high hop American IPAs. A must buy when and where you can get it.

Sampled at the 2012 Portland Brew Festival. Deliciously hoppy and a really good hop-malt balance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Canned. Reddish orange pour. Decent head. Your standard citrus and hoppy notes but tending to malty. Ok.

Medium sized white head with good retention and lace. Lightly hazy gold/copper color. Juicy, piney hop nose with a lil bit of caramel malt. Medium body with a nice carbonation. Piney, citrusy hop flavors, lil tropical with a mildly sweet, grainy malt backing. Fairly dry finish is fruity, juicy with a well balanced bite. Solid APA. One of my favorite east coast IPAs. . . although the taste is thoroughly west coasty. This one is very close to the Modus Hoperandi, to me, and that’s one of my favorites. They share the blazing, piney, citrusy, hoppiness, and the wonderfully "sharp" carbonation. This one has a little more backbone in the malt department, but also has a slightly less unique, less grapefruity hop profile. Really good IPA.

Cask at GBBF 2012. It pours hazy golden amber, with a minimal off-white head. The nose is pine, resin, grass, hopsack and leaf. The taste is pine, leaf, grass, zesty, resin, varnish, light spice and alcohol warmth, with a very dry, bitter finish. Medium body, low carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Enjoyable bitterness. Good, but I can’t help to think that this would be even better on keg....
