A heavily-hopped, West Coast-style IPA. Bold, complex flavors with a solid malt backbone and assertive hop profile, along with cold conditioning give this beer its crisp, clean finish.

One of my favorite east coast IPAs. . . although the taste is thoroughly west coasty. This one is very close to the Modus Hoperandi, to me, and that’s one of my favorites. They share the blazing, piney, citrusy, hoppiness, and the wonderfully "sharp" carbonation. This one has a little more backbone in the malt department, but also has a slightly less unique, less grapefruity hop profile. Really good IPA.

Cask at GBBF 2012. It pours hazy golden amber, with a minimal off-white head. The nose is pine, resin, grass, hopsack and leaf. The taste is pine, leaf, grass, zesty, resin, varnish, light spice and alcohol warmth, with a very dry, bitter finish. Medium body, low carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Enjoyable bitterness. Good, but I can’t help to think that this would be even better on keg....

Cask@GBBF2012. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, caramelly and toffeeish with some slight nectary notes as well. Flavour is bitter fruity and floral hops along with some caramel malts and mild grassy and zesty notes towards the finish.

Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2012, Olympia, London. An amber coloured pour with a small white head on top. Hoppy, tropical fruit aroma. Typical US DIPA territory, tastes hoppy, malty, sweet, sticky, plenty of grapefruit. Smooth and so easy to drink, delicious!

UPDATED: JUL 26, 2012 From notes..had on draft recently at Fore St in Portland. Grapefruit nose, assertive hop presence, fresh and lots of carbonation. Glad to be able to enjoy local brew on draft to wash everything down. Very nice indeed, would be interested to see how this turned out canned?
