Somewhat thin-tasting but surprisingly strong IPA at nearly 7%. Good hop aroma comes out of the can. Mouthfeel is a bit a sticky and taste a bit too much like seltzer. Otherwise, this is a good drinking ale at a good price in Maine.

Had this beer at the squelling pig in Ptown under the name bar name as Pigswill. Modest head and nice lacing, honey colored and a fair amount of aromatic. Pretty Good.

Really nice mid hoppyness, smooth long bitterness, not enough up-front punch. Really clean and slightly roasted malt profile. Baxter’s best.

Aroma: residous pine, with slight malty characteristics. Appearence: murky brownish/orange color w/ 2 fingers of cream white head. Excellent lacing. Taste: piney hops, bitter, decent malt backbone with grapefruit aftertaste. Palate: crisp smooth & refreshing brew. OA: good beer, Baxter's best, but not in the class of the great west coast ipas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The third and final beer in my profile of this relative newcomer’s portfolio, and the one I have had the most previously. Darkish amber pour with bif fluffy tan head. Lots of nice hop oils in there. Aroma of juicy citrus hops thrown far and wide. Fresh, dense hop aroma. Green and red. Strong hit of crystal malt up front, pretty assertive bitterness in back. Very much a balanced approach. A bit soapy. Citrus fruit as well as darker strawberry and cherry. Some notes of raw hop oil keep this feeling fresh, but it’s more of a candied preserved kind of sweet hop character going on for the most part. Proves that balanced doesn’t have to mean overly sweet or weak bitterness. A really nice addition to the East Coast IPA lineup. Between Baxter and Maine Beer Co, Maine finally has some American style hop-forward brewing happening.

Draft @ Bull Finney, Portland , ME, Hazy amber color with nice retention served in a Baxter glass. Nice nose of spruce, bready malt and citrus. Taste is spot on the nose. Meduim body, Really balanced IPA, not going to blow you away with bitterness. Real easy to drink, very tasty.

Can. Pours a light orange color with a thick white frothy head. Nose is fresh piney hops, sticky biscuits, light notes of oranges. Big full mouth with a quick throat bitterness. Palate is sticky as are lips and molars. Flavors of piney citrus hops, sticky biscuit and caramel malt notes.

Can from BeerPilgrim11. Copper color, this pours with a big clumpy off-white head. There’s certainly a rich toffee and caramel malt backbone to this with sharp resinous hops as well as some notes of pine. The finish is dry and bitter. It’s a bit too malty and gritty for my liking but is hopped accordingly and is overall a solid beer.

Poured from can into shaker. Pours a slightly cloudy orange with fluffy off-white that dissipates quickly. Aroma of hops and citrus. Hop bitterness, light citrus and pine. Ok.

12oz can. Pours a cloudy amber with a white head. Didn’t expect much after having tasted a couple other Baxter brews that were mediocre at best but this one is pretty good. The description of west coast style IPA is fitting. Big hop tastes of citrus and pine. Not bad.
