MacMoney (410) - Espoo, FINLAND - OCT 31, 2011
Draught at Papperla Pub in Würzburg. Pours a hazy, dark amber with a large off-white head. Aroma is grainy, some caramel, herbal hops. Taste is caramel, grain, strongly herbal. Palate is somewhat carbonated, light and refreshing. Goes well with a salami baguette.

fiulijn (10383) - Como, ITALY - JUN 24, 2011
Draught at Papperla Pub, Haus der 150 Biere, Würzburg, as Haudbrau Kelerbier Naturtrüb
Dark amber - chestnut color; clean, not naturtrüb; with creamy head. The aroma is a bit smelly; indeed also the flavor is skunky, some dirty water; sweetish; the caramel is mild and leaves a light dry finish. Not good.

Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 21, 2011
Test vom 2.4.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,9,7,9,8 - 8,15

Bierkrug (1666) - Idar-Oberstein (In East Africa), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2011
500 ml bottle picked up in Frankfurt at Bierhannes and then dragged off to Kenya. Pours a dark amber color with a bubbely off white head. Aroma of malts and some caramel. Taste is sweet malty with some spices. Palate is mellow and smooth. A very good and different Marzen.

KyotoLefty (3752) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 8, 2010
As the Haus Kellerbier in the Haus der 150 Biere in Wurzburg. Pale amber with a nice head. Sweet, lightly caramel flavor; rather earthy and grassy with a touch of sweet fruitiness and a rather dry finish. Earthy caramel nose. Not very impressive.

pivnizub (7228) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - FEB 28, 2007
Bottle: Deep amber coloured, lightly lacing off-white head....and so on: all in all a stronger, fuller and a even bit better rounded version of the "Schwarzes Röslein" . Great stuff from a little brewery...........

MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - FEB 18, 2007
(bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a lasting beige foamy head. Smells like the Schwarzes Röslein, only a bit stronger with more roasted malt. Bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Tastes also like a souped up version of the Röslein by Bayer Bräu, even a bit more balanced and heavier. Also very good and pretty quaffable.
