3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at The Monk’s Kettle in San Francisco. Pours incredibly light straw gold, with a slightly greenish tint. Slightly hazy with a white head. Nose of green apples, lemon, brett, and taste is dry, tart, and slightly funky. Really good, but expensive as shit.
Also, what is that rating from SlovakSniper alll about? Awesome.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Yessss. totally stoked for this beer.
Bottle date: unk
A: Pours a light, light opal ale with haze and soooo much foam. The egg white foam overtakes the globe after about five ounces of pour, and the beer takes about five minutes before this dies down and leaves a thick sheet of the same. No lace.
S: Smells a bit tart with some earthiness and makes me think of warm nights and refreshing beer gardens.
T: Light grain ale with a slight tartness, but this is overwhelmed by the brett. A bit of a mineral finish and some bland grains.
M: Light and nearly flat at this point with the thick soapy finish I associate with heavy Brett.
O: I dig it, but not more than the classic.

Bottle to glass. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a bubbly white head. Aroma is an astringent sour character, very dry. Flavor is extremely tart and citrusy. Light in body with an oily texture that coats the tongue with a very sour finish. Quite tasty.

Bottle thanks to Richard. Pours a very light straw color with good sized head. Nose is light citrus, a bit of acidity, and air. Palate is quite dry and very light, with flavors of yeast and lacto and a short finish. A simple Berliner, but refreshing.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
tap at ebenezer’s. clear pale yellow with a small white head, no retention. some lemon and lactic acidity, wheat, shy bretts, some white grapes and floral notes, butter and creamed corn, almost flat 7-up feeling without its sugars. moderate to soft carbonation, light acidity. tad linear and obvious brett underdevelopment. ok.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is strongly lactic with a faint wheat note. There is also a light lemon note and a medium low barnyard/horse blanket character, but the lactic acid dominates.
Pours a cloudy yellow straw color with a big, thin white head that quickly recedes but carbonation continues to rise to the top. No lacing or legs.
Flavor is very tart and acidic. This is definitely one of the most acidic Berliners on the market. Nice citrus note with light wheat character. No bitterness. The mid palate and finish brings in the lambicus notes - moderate goat and horse blanket but the acidity wipes it away and it finishes tart and refreshing.
Mouthfeel is medium light to light bodied with high carbonation. There is low astringency and low to no alcohol warmth.
Overall this is an acid bomb, but its clean, tart and refreshing. The lambicus adds just a complimentary barnyard funk which makes this a much more complex Berliner.
