Commercial Description:
Huguenots may have originated the style as they traveled through France to Flanders, having first mentioned it in the 1600s. During their time, there were said to be seven hundred weissbier breweries in Berlin. Later, in 1809, Napoleon and his troops identified Berliner Weisse as the Champagne of the North. He requested the beer be served w/syrup to cut its extreme level of acidity. Bayrischer Bahnhof’s interpretation is a slightly softer, more mellow version of the “Berliner Weisse” style with a beautiful balance of tartness, fruitness, and sweetness.

Pours a very hazy light-yellow color with a pretty substantial white head. Aroma was very sour and citrusy with a bit of funkiness... a hint of wheat/grains (but not much). Flavors were pretty sour and citrusy (mostly lemon) but had some grainy/funky overtones... still, not very in-depth or complex, but very interesting. Mouthfeel was extremely light and "watery", but not in a negative sense... more like you could drink a ton of these on a random hot day of BBQs and drinkin’. Looking forward to trying more of this style...

Bottled sample via radiomgb. Very pale yellow in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas of red-skinned apples and malted wheat. A bit fruit forward in the mouth, with more apple and additional lemon and a bit of wheat. Somewhat tart, but not over the top. Fairly refreshing, but a little too fruity for me.

Cloudy, light straw color with a diminished white head. Mild tart aroma, with hints of grape and lemon zest. Fairly mild acidity, yet quite balanced with the light flavors. Very quenching. HInts of a light sweet pale malt. A nice simple version of the style. A really hot day, playing ball, golfing, just about any activity and this brew would go very well together.

Pours very pale yellow with a bone white head. The aroma has some lightly tartness, lemon / orange citrus and hints of spice. Thin ultra crisp body with effervescent carbonation. The taste starts clean, mildly tart, citric and lightly sweet with a smoothness to the taste. The finish adds a bit of an aspirin taste. A nice beer, but as intense as most in the style. As the beer warms it gets more powdery.

Objectively speaking: An extremely mild berliner weisse that is ultimately not that pleasant nor interesting to drink.
I like: Strong wheat extraction. Soft and delicate tartness. Gentle soft cracker nuances to the malts. Refreshing, albeit one-dimensional lemon constancy. Champaign reminiscences indeed.
I dislike: A bit rough, biting carbonation. Tame very pale yellow with a muddy haze, fully effervescent, but not much head retention for a wheat beer. Not very effective fruitiness. The seltzer water, mineral impressions get tiresome. Not very lactic. Perhaps it needs to be very fresh.

Pours a sickly lightly hazed light yellow with a big old loose white head, when I pour carefully. Adding yeast, and the color is an unearthly yellow glow. The nose is slightly grainy, slightly wheaty, not a ton of character. Maybe a bit sweet and ever so slightly acidic. Maybe slightly vegetal. Light fluffy lively body. Higher carbonation. The flavor is very wheaty, especially in the finish. A bit of initial acidity and slight tartness, but nothing particularly crazy. Maybe a hint of lacto, but not much. Bummer. A little bit of lemon in the start of the finish, but the wheaty grain flavors just drag this down from the refreshment it should be. Maybe a touch of astringency left in the mouth.
