Taster at Bavarian Lodge, May 24. Very pale. Big Flats pale. Nose is more zesty than sour, kind of a raspberry note. A first tiny sip is indeed pretty sour, but with a fruity note surrounding it, like there was lipstick on the glass. I don’t claim to be a sour beer expert, but I’ve drunk enough infected homebrews to appreciate a good example, and this is eminently refreshing. Not slammable for sure, but its sourness does make it sessionable in its way. You can’t help but pucker up at some point in the proceedings.

Bottle, abgefüllt august 2011. Pours extremely light yellow, with an enormous head quickly dissolving. Aroma does not stand out in any particular way, it’s sharp and crispy of citrus and brett. It has a light thin body, with a lively carbonation. Flavour is really refreshing, with brett, lots of lemon and yeast. It is really sour, yet not bitter, and the sourness last through the finish with a good fruity yeast in the after taste. A nice acquaintance.

Pours bright yellow with thin lacing and fine bubbles. Aroma is lemon, citrus and floral notes. Super tart at first sip, like biting into a yellow Sour Patch kid without the sweetness. Really sharp lemon and acidity, hello Brett. Killed me that it was only 3% ABV and I still couldn’t finish the 330ml bottle, I love sour, but this was too acidic for me. But very happy I tried it.

0.33 l bottle. Hazy yellow color. Sour aroma with lemon, sulfur and rhubarb. Tart and wheaty flavor with lemon, grapefruit and rhubarb. Palate feels a bit fuller than I expected from the abv. Nice refreshing tartness, and fairly complex also.

On tap: pour is murky light golden with a fine bubbled white head that retains well, with light lacing present. The nose is Apple.skins, grain, lemon rind, and.some.mild.funk. this one is tart, sure, but whatever, I’m a sour head. No syrup needed. Wheat, lemon, mild funk, with more sour notes. A nice one for sure

On tap at Blue Monk in Buffalo, NY. Pours a hazy golden with white head. Very sharp smell and even sharper taste. Very vinegary; a friend likened it to a lemonhead. Took me forever to drink. Damn good beer though.

Pale gold. Very Pale. Big spongy white head. Citrusy, lemon aroma. Very Sour, as is to be expected. Lemony, white vinegar, hints of brett funk, but not as much as I was expecting. Still, very tasty and quaffable. I liked it.

Draft. Pale beer with a whitish head. Tart aroma. Tart/sour flavor with lemon and green apple. Medium bodied. Tart/sourness lingers with light acetic notes and lemon. Very good.

joeneugs (2143) - Livermore, California, USA - MAY 9, 2012
On draft at Beer Rev. It pours a very light clear yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is fresh bread and yeast with some fairly heavy lactic notes. The flavor is mouthpuckering with beautiful bright lemon, bread and yogurt. Very sour finish. Light in the body, but if feels bigger than it is. Great berliner.

Bottle. Pours a clouody pale yellow color with a big, fizzy white head that settles pretty quickly. Nice aroma of lemon zest and slight florals. Light mouthfeel. Zesty and refreshing. Lemon and citrus notes really dominate this one. Ends slightly funky. This is a really enjoyable beer. It’s interesting to me that it pours so "heady" but after it settles there is literally zero head left. Tasty.
