Bottle: Deep golden, hazy, stable off-white head, vinous-woody nose with a sweet fruity background; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, supported by a decent acidity, medium bodied; lingering sweet-sourish finish including vanilla, wine and a subtle alcohol-burn. Pretty good…

375 ml bottle poured into English pint glass. Slightly hazy orange color with a thin finger of silky off-white head and a steady stream of tiny bubbles. Aroma is mostly oak and boozy tequila with some sour citrus. Flavors of salty peanut up front, transitioning into a tart yeasty middle and a tequila finish. This is the first Gose I’ve had. It’s unlike anything I’ve sampled before, and I quite enjoy it.

15/XII/13 - 33cl bottle from Mi-Orge Mi-Houblon (Arlon) @ home - BB: n/a (2013-1149) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!

Clear orange beer, huge aery white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very smelly, rotten agrum fruits, bit soapy, alcohol, some caramel, overripe banana, weird spices, juniper berries, orange peel. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: citric start, pretty sour, tangerines, weird nasty taste, probably the tequila? Some alcohol, bit sugary. Aftertaste: alcohol, weird stuff, orange peel, bit sour, spices, little bitter, tannins. Meh, this is totally not my thing.

Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit IV. Thanks to Dr. Owl for sending. Fucken Deutsch wælz. Pours a cloudy orange appearance with a nice cream colored head. Creamy lime pie, sticky rice, oaky/vanilla aroma. Twangy, big vanilla woody, lemon/lime, light honey, slightly boozy flavor with a fair amount of salt and some tartness on the finish. Kind of fun to try but nothing like a typical gose.

Bottle. Muddy copper pour with a short, dense tan head. Aroma is rather boozy with tequila notes, wet wood, caramel, sweet malt, spice notes and candied fruit. Taste is sweet with more tequila notes, sweet malt, caramel, spice, toffee, ripe fruits, candied fruit notes and sugary notes. Body is light-medium and slightly sticky with a soft, creamy carbonation. Ends with more booze and tequila notes, wet wood, spice, caramel, light toffee, sweet malt, fruits, dark bread and light sugary notes.

375, capped. Thanks, S! Wow, what a totally off the wall and unexpected treat. By all rights in the history of brewing tradition, this beer should not really exist, much less be any good. But it’s pretty damn good. Pours a murky dark amber with no head or lace. Big tangy fruity nose, definite agave showing, along with some salt and herbs. Sticky thick body with very little carb. Crazy agave and salt and herb mid palate with a seeming dose of lactic fermentation blended in. Long tangy finish. Worth a repeat.

330 ml bottle. Tuulensuu, Tampere, Finland.
Cloudy amber colour with a small white head. Alcohol, might be tequila, mild bitterness, mild sweetness, mild malt, peanut skin and pencil in the aroma. Peanut skin, marzipan, alcohol, tequila, berries and mild bitterness in the flavour. Strange but not bad.

Sampled at esbls. Almost clear amber gold. Sweet malts in the nose. Tasyed, too. Tequilla? Just a little is tasted. Wood is light. Not that much going on.
