Tap at Gingerman. What a strange beer. There is a strange yeast note, most certainly the brett, but it doesn’t feel like brett at all. Dry, dynamic, slightly slightly caramel body. Spoiled milk notes. It’s... ok.

FDBK 2011. The head is ok, the body black. It smells roasty, dry, a bit salty. The taste is roasty, salty, special, bit coffee, interesting.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2013 Goblet draft at Ginger Man NYC. Black body with tan head. Aroma is super bretty - way leathery, leather to the max. Behind that a nice earthy porter with light roast. Just so leathery and wild. Flavor is fruity and leather with a light fizzy finish with lots of tart juicy brett at the end. A real fun beer to drink.

On tap at Bangers & Lace. Succulent. Rich but not too coffee-flavored like many porters. Tartness from the Brett adds a really neat aspect to the finish. Interesting and really enjoyable.

Draft at torst Burnt brown sugar appearance off white head. Nice porter flavor with a very dry finish. Very nicely done

Black brown pour with big tan head Loads of lacing and with slight funk fruity nose. Hint of roasted malts, watery body, bretts, dry finish. I quite liked this one.

Ar: Cherry and barnyard, definite brett presence - some smoky notes - char and coffee. Ap: Deep brown, opaque - enormous tan head with great retention, leaving chunks of foam down the side of the glass as it recedes. T: Deep earthiness up front, with cherry and barnyard notes developing behind - hay and a low, spicy bitterness mid-palate - some dark caramel creates a very unique mix with the barnyard funk - finish is slightly acidic, with dried cherry and leather. P: Medium-full body, with a fine, creamy carbonation - finish is medium-dry. O: This is a very unique porter (and beer, generally), as some of the other reviewers have noted - the mixture of the barnyard brett funk with the dark caramel and fruit qualities of the porter is really something different - I can’t say this would be my first choice for a porter, but I’m glad I tried it, as there is some undeniable craftsmanship here.

Tap at Gingerman what a nice weird surprise. Pours black with nose of chocolate and Brett. Tastes funky, of Brett, berries, dark chocolate, coffee, earth, and ginger. Loved it
