3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
33cl bottle picked up while at Bierzwerg. This is the first time Iíve seen this beer in a standard 33cl rather than that crazy (pricy) larger odd shaped bottle. So finally, here it goes. It pours with a moderately opaque copper body with gold hues and supporting a near white head of foam. The aroma has malt sweetened straw and some yeast and then a mild green earthy lime note that flows into a dash of lemon zest and sugar at the end of the draw. Behind those notes is a mild funky sour mash sensation. The taste begins with a mix of earthy malts, zesty lemon zest and sugar nuanced lime that creates a moderate degree of puckery tartness. It gets lighter and refreshing midway and into the dry finish where saltiness comes to the surface every now and then. Cool brew for a hot summer day.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ar: Sweet gooseberry, cantaloupe, and peach.
Ap: Hazy straw gold - small white head with poor retention, leaves just a wisp of foam.
T: Tangy lemon with a firm, but not overwhelming, acidity - lots of peach and gooseberry, very white-wine-like - coriander notes toward the middle - tart lemon peel on the finish.
P: Light body with high carbonation - finish is very dry.
O: Refreshing and bright, a really nice summer beer - the peach notes really add a lot to this beer, as well.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Appearance: nearly clear, honey gold with a short, pale orange head and minimal lacing. Aroma: light honey, slightly musty cracked wheat, coriander, and a bit of sour funk over some orange rind and lemongrass. Taste: a bit tart and sour up front, with a quickly cresting wave of citrus giving way to a subtle wheaty twang. Finish: the sourness comes back a bit at the finish before slowly fading, leaving the palate scrubbed clean for the next sip. Notes: Gone before I knew it. Not a great beer, by any stretch, but extremely refreshing due to the light sourness, which was perfectly typical of the style (just below, say, a berliner weisse).

Body is medium, lightly wheaty, dryish and lightly sourish flavor, faint spiciness. Finish is average, lightly wheaty, dry and lightly sourish, light spiciness and light citrus. Interisting but not very enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shared from an 11.2 oz brown bottle into snifter glasses. It poured a nice golden amber colour with slight yeast haze, almost no head or lace. Smelled like a fruity Pilsener or a Kolsch ale. Soft, grainy, tart, very low hops presence, very mellow and harmonious. Some citrusy and peppery notes from the coriander and yeast. Not nearly as salty, sour, or acidic as I expected. The aftertaste was ever-so-slightly reminiscent of swimming in the ocean. Interesting stuff, but probably not something Iíd drink a whole lot of.
