This original Leipzig beer specialty lends us the name for our brewery. Gose is a regional beer specialty that was brought to Saxony-Anhalt in the year 1738. Originally Gose comes from Goslar, a small town in Lower Saxony, and the river ďGoseĒ in this town. This beer specialty has a refreshing, slightly sour taste and is ideal for quenching your thirst. Gose is brewed with the additional ingredients lactic acid, cilantro, and salt. Gose is a top-fermented beer with 4,5 Vol. % alcohol and 10,8 % wort. You can enjoy it in different variations.

Bottle - though significantly drabber than the one pictured. Nose is hint of sour , lemon, the corriander is very pronounced. Taste is lightly sour (think very gentle Berliner Weiss) leading to lots of corriander, then a suprisingly sweet fruity, caramel, larger like midsection and a light finish, with a hint of the salt. Itís too fizzy for me and the finish quickly starts to feel too thin. This is a difficult beer to rate, it seems to be an outstanding alternative to a larger, itís a light refresher with more depth... but... that in of itself does not make it a great, or even a good, beer.

Bottle. Pour is murky gold, aroma is fruity acid. Taste is mild sourness, some salt, overall very balanced. Good stuff

hazy yellow with a cm of fizzy, medium-fine egg-shell head. Aroma is dusty wheat grain, light berry, lager-like. body is creamy, but slightly watery, rather light. Light burn. Flavor is a bit of fake berry (strawberry, blue raspberry dum dum), a touch of lemon grass, candy, and salt. A touch of tartness. A nice, somewhat standard tasting gose. The tartness becomes more and more refreshing.

The description above is incorrect. The herb is coriander, not cilantro. But, it doesnít really matter as they put so little in that you canít taste it anyhow. They also put little to no salt in, so you canít really taste that either. That is, the two special qualities of a Gose are both missing from this beer. It is drinkable, but not a Gose.

12oz bottle pours hazy pale yellow orange with small head. Low carbonation. Nose is subtle touch of grain and hay with light lemon and a touch of salinity. Taste is low carb, a little syrupy, not much tartness, touch of spicy hay and hints of cereal with some earthy lemon, a touch of dry grain, and citrus.

Autentica gose tedesca corole dorato con scarsa schiuma bianca. Al naso note fruttate. In bocca corpo medio leggero e bilanciata verso líacido.

Etrange...

A very tame gose. Not much aroma, but very pretty, honey golden appearance. Slightly sour. Very easy drinking.

No date on the bottle, although Iíve had it well over a year. Iím thinking itís about two years old. The bottle I have is the "spezialitat" which has a wide base and long neck. Appearance: The beer has a thin white head that goes away fast leaving no lacing. The body is a golden orange color that is slightly hazy. Aroma: I get a sweet coriander aroma. Itís very prominent, especially for being collared so long. Taste: It has a very light wheat flavor and a hint of coriander. Itís very mellow . Mouthfeel: There is a slight tartness around the edge but not strong. The beer is light all-around. Overall: Itís a great beer. I wasnít getting a whole lot of wheat flavor our sourness from the beer, but it was very enjoyable. Itís a nice light drink that could be enjoyed with about anything. I would recommend it to anyone who hasnít tried a Gose (and those who have) who enjoy coriander spiced witbiers. I would buy it again.

Bayerischer Bahnhof is too difficult for my clumsy American tongue to pronounce but more than tasty enough for it to enjoy. Admittedly, this isnít the most full-bodied brew Iíve ever had, but thereís still quite a lot going on in here. Sweet malts, savory spices, slightly sour acidity, and citrusy fruits show up in the taste and (to a lesser extent) in the aroma. Crisp mouthfeel and smooth carbonation bring out the beerís refreshing qualities, and the yellow color is nice. While this brew is expensive, itís definitely worth a try.
