2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 ChrisPants (317) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 13, 2005I had a leinies right before this, and I didn’t realize that I had begun drinking something different. The aroma is a bit malty, but otherwise nothing doing. Pour is dark cloudy orange with a head that seems to have taken out a 30-day lease. Palate is bright, coppery (metallic), astringent, and crisp. Lactic acid is incredibly obvious, and not welcome. Finishes with a near-barley nose, but edges back toward a generic yeastiness. Not a major find for me.

Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. It has an aroma of wheat, some sourness, and coriander. The flavor is tart with sourness, funk, and spices up front that lead to a crisp wheat and spice aftertaste.

330 ml bottle. Pours hazy-golden with tall, long lasting, white head. Aroma is of wheat malt, spices and some hops. Body is full and smooth. Wheat malt, salt, spices, funky yeast, some sourness and tartness combine on the palate. Finish is long, salty and tart. Nice refreshing brew.

750ml bottle. Hazy golden colour with small, firm, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, yeasty aroma, hints of mustard, a minimal herbal touch. Taste is sourish, salty, spicy, subtle fruit note, a grainy, wheaty line throughout.

Di colore giallo limone, con una schiuma poco persistente. Fresca, dissetante e sapida. Molto beverina.

Bottle pour@4th Festival der Bierkulturen Köln 25/05/2013. - Pours a lactic pale yellow. Ayran salz, flat lambic, old lemon. Gf says, we agree by making it count as "interesting supplemental aromas": wet diapre, some barf. Taste and palate are eqsier than the initially offputting blend of off smells. Appreciate what the salt adds to the basic Berliner Weisse acidity here. Save for the novelty bottle, there is no need for this blended brew that needs fractions of a geuze’s time to produce to be as expensive...I’ll add some seasalt to my Girardin or lactic acid/Ayran to my Blanche if need be.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jeremyh70 (371) - Missouri, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Pours a clear and pale golden yellow with a big fizzy head and only moderate lacing. Nose is light with a wheat tang and some light fruit and floral character. The wheat flavor comes through in the taste with a bit of graininess, mild lemon acidity and only a slight taste of coriander. The added salt is perceptible as it warms but does not stand out. Mouthfeel is soft and medium bodied with a spritzy carbonation. Unique and different beer. On the light side but still a good amount of flavor. Literally made my mouth salivate after the first sip.

11.2 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy straw color with a white head of foam that fizzles down to a thin cap. Aroma is very light and fruity with busy a touch of salty zing hiding in the back. Its just salty enough to make the mouth water. Wheaty, bready notes come through in the taste. I also get a bit of salted lemon. Interesting style. One I could get into, I think.
3.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 nealblind (118) - USA - MAY 3, 2013
Pretty hazy orange brew. Smells of sulfur, honey, and spice. Tastes like salty lemony apple juice. Light carbonation seems natural fermented. Strong sour finish. Would be better with slightly less salt and better aroma. Pretty tasty though.
