porterhouse (991), Alna, Maine, USA Sep 17, 2008 (330 ml bottle from Bootlegger’s) Pours cloudy gold with a sturdy two fingers of white head. Aroma is sort of honeyish with some hops, perhaps a hint of smoke. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, a bit fizzy from the noticeable carbonation. Weepy sheets of lacing. Flavor is quite gueuze-like, sourish and tangy with some honeyish maltiness underneath. Spice/coriander notes emerge more toward finish as it warms. Fairly acidic. Guess this would a German gueuze? One of those that I didn’t particularly enjoy but appreciate its quality.
blutt59 (952), Dallas, Texas, USA Nov 28, 2008 bottle, cloudy orange brown with a sour, floral smell, flavor is predominately wet hay, sour fruit and a salty finish jehoey (732), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 31, 2008 aroma reminded me of the sea, kind of course with mild spiciness. poured tanish and hazy with a good spritz, but I’m guess the head retention was probably impaired by the salt?... flavor was down right strange to me. didn’t taste at all like I expected. Salt was present but not dominating. very little weisse bier qualities, and not as much sourness as I was expecting. I can’t say I liked it but found it kind of interesting. ucusty (1241), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Oct 30, 2008 Thanks to Solan for this! Thin gold pour with fluffy white head. Head is short lived. Grainy flavor. Slight tartness with hints of coriander ARMed (437), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 16, 2008 A rather simplist looking and smelling beer, but what a great flavor. I love the tart sourness of the beer and the complex esters have me wanting more. This was excellent. It would have rated higher were it not for the lack of head and full-bodiness. daniele (926), Italy Oct 6, 2008 chiara buona schiuma persistente note acidule fruttate frumento leggero erbaceo in bocca frumentro leggerra acidità buona beva un tocco sapido
