This original Leipzig beer specialty lends us the name for our brewery. Gose is a regional beer specialty that was brought to Saxony-Anhalt in the year 1738. Originally Gose comes from Goslar, a small town in Lower Saxony, and the river “Gose” in this town. This beer specialty has a refreshing, slightly sour taste and is ideal for quenching your thirst. Gose is brewed with the additional ingredients lactic acid, cilantro, and salt. Gose is a top-fermented beer with 4,5 Vol. % alcohol and 10,8 % wort. You can enjoy it in different variations.

Bottle, shared with Jeff. Hazy bright golden with a generous white head that shows excellent retention. Aroma is evocative of sweet tart berry fruit. Lovely bright palate with flavours of gooseberries and subtle spice, finishing with a delicate tartness that never quite reaches sour proportions. Nothing saline about this beer at all-- my fears were not realized! Actually an incredibly refreshing lighter beer that I wish I could have more of. An unexpected pleasure!

11.2 fl oz bottle from Beers of Europe. Hazy golden amber colour, foam white head and aroma of wheat, hay, straw. Taste is grainy, wheat followed by tart lemon sourness and then notes of lactic acid and salt. Slick mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, sour & salty finish. Refreshing, quite drinkable.

Nice head. Not much aroma; rather grainy. Some lemon. Flavor: salty, sour, tart. Never having much of this style before, I thought it was something like a kolsch. Not as earthy, though. Different and decent.

Bottle from Bierzwerg!
Pours nice yellow with a small white head. Smell has sourish and fruity yeast notes. Starts with lots of acidic yeast and some sourish fermented malt notes. Goes into a refreshing sourish and lovely fruity yeast finish. Very good for a hot summer day :-)

On tap at Crowbar & Bryggeri, march 24th 2015. Cloudy yellow body with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of grain, citric acid, wheat. Taste is mild salty with a weak sourness, malt and honey. A bit too little sourness in a gose for me, though on its own it’s a refreshing beer.

Bottle. Vibrant cloudy golden beer with a strong white head. The aroma is citrusy with some herbalness and dryness, and the flavour is lemony and sour with spice and bitterness. Overall a nice citrusy and bitter beer (much like a wheat beer) with plenty of character. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

11.2 oz. bottle from Supermarket Liquors. Appearance: finger white head, straw color, cloudy, head does not last. Aroma: caramel, grassy, fruity. Palate: medium body, dry finish, sticky texture, average soft carbonation. Taste: sweet to light tartness very fruity, into caramel sweet with light grassiness. Overall, pretty enjoyable, very strange, unique, I like it.
