COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This original Leipzig beer specialty lends us the name for our brewery. Gose is a regional beer specialty that was brought to Saxony-Anhalt in the year 1738. Originally Gose comes from Goslar, a small town in Lower Saxony, and the river “Gose” in this town. This beer specialty has a refreshing, slightly sour taste and is ideal for quenching your thirst. Gose is brewed with the additional ingredients lactic acid, cilantro, and salt. Gose is a top-fermented beer with 4,5 Vol. % alcohol and 10,8 % wort. You can enjoy it in different variations.

Has an aged german beer quality in the aroma -- same yeast probably as a German wheat beer. The coriander and salt are not distinguished. A quaint little brew.

Mostly clean, light yellow. Sweeter than expected malts, funk. Moderate taste, both fruity and dry, umami, developed. Odd style and this is a prototypical example, perhaps a bit sweeter on the nose. (At Libf 2016)

On tap at Gasthaus und Gosebrauerei Bayerischer Bahnhof, Leipzig. Hazy orange with a nice, white head. Fairly mild aroma, grainy and yeasty notes, hints of sour berries and fruits. Moderate sweet with nice acidity and moderate flavour intensity. Certainly a refreshing berevage when enjoyed on a sunny day in the biergarten.

330 ml bottle from Drikk Godt. Golden/amber and hazy. Small white head that quickly disappears. Some wheat taste, maybe similar to wit-beers. All in all taste is foreign to me but good.

Bottle from Whole Foods Sugar Land. Very cloudy yellowish orange with a rapidly receding white head. Aroma of sour yeast/wheat with coriander. Taste is very lightly tart and wheaty with some fruitiness. Light bodied, crisp, and refreshing.

Yeast aroma with citrus and funky lacto-smell, and coriander. Tangy and balanced. Smooth and refreshing. A bit salty with touches of peach. Pleasant beer.

Bottle from Humlen Ølutsalg, Bergen. One of the original German gose beers? Exciting indeed. Pours a slightly hazy golden body with a medium white head. Nose is citrus, rose water, minerals, pale malts and hints of apricot and straw. Taste is pale malts, citrus, apricot, straw and hints of red berries, minerals and salt. Light body, medium to high carbonation. Very different from most "craft goses", this beer sports a lot of fruitiness and quite a bit of salt, while being rather restraint when it comes to lactic sour tones - the ones present are also pretty different from the classic sour mash notes. I do prefer sour mashing or otherwise bacterial souring over added lactic acid, which seems to be the case here, but otherwise this is a thirst-quenching and easy-going beer for sure.

Many thanks for this traditional Gose Beer to kevnic2008. Bottle 33cl. Super do lekko usmażonej ryby i kiszonych ogurkow. Fajna etykieta. Bardzo tradycyjne i fajne Gose z Lipska.
