3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 OD40oz (714) - Box Elder, USA - MAR 1, 2005
This was a pretty smooth tasting beer. I was pretty impressed by it. Dark gold in color, not much for a head. I would like to try more of Bayern Brewing beers but they are unavailable where I live.

Bottle thanks to IBrew2or3. Cheers, Dave! Pours a hazy orange with an off-white head. Nose is sweet malt, some bread, a hint of fruit, some floral notes, and some yeast. Flavor is similar with sweet malt all over, a hint of fruit, some floral hops, and a bit of yeast in the finish. Light to medium in body and lingering sweet and yeasty finish.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 22415brewery (241) - redmond, Washington, USA - FEB 20, 2012
Pours dark golden with amber highlights, fairly clear with non-existant head. Light toast aroma, a little bread, a little bit of sulfur and a hint of canned corn. Faint notes of hay and dusty malt. Medium-low malt flavor, some chewiness and a bit of saltine cracker. A medium-light caramel flavor pops up a bit with some light caramel sweetness. Finishes fairly dry with again a bit of corn-like aftertaste. No outstanding malt characer shines through nor noble hop aroma which is a disappointment.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 BVery (2538) - Burnsville, Minnesota, USA - FEB 15, 2012
Bottle. Hazy orange pour with a white head. Aroma is sweet sugars, hay, and a bit foul. Medium to thin palate. Taste is very sugary, grassy - just not really enjoying this one.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 wasabi1200 (15) - Montana, USA - FEB 13, 2012
This amber is aromatic and pours gold and cloudy with a thin, white head. It’s slightly sweet, (I taste caramel and possibly a bit of citrus), but also malty and a bit tart. This is a decent light beer but not one of my favorites out of Bayern.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ibrew2or3 (4914) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - FEB 2, 2012
12oz bottle pours clear copper with thin re-generative white head. The aroma is kind of malty, caramel-y and faintly roasty as well as sort of sugar sweet lagery. The taste is similar with modest levels of roasty malts and sweet sugar malt infused lagery yeastiness. This has a nice play between the modest roasted malts, sweet malts and a lager floral hop sensation. Nice.

12 ounce bottle thanks to dave! Pours a clear copper color with a small white head. A sweet honey and dry leaves nose. The flavor is crisp and clean some honey and light earthy malts. Very smooth.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 scooterbub (546) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - JUN 11, 2011
12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a nice one inch white head that lasts. Taste is of caramel, malts, smoke, hops, yeast and grass. Similar, but strong and present aroma. Has a nice full, chewy and creamy body. It is an extremely easy beer to drink, that is well balanced and is very satisfying. Like most of their beer I’ve had it is well worth picking up again.

Drank 3/19/11. Thanks to Brenn79 for this. "Best by Jan. 2011." 12 oz bottle into lager glass. Pours a hazy cantaloupe hue with minimal head. Smells of stale grain and caramel malt. Taste is sweet and salty; has a faint hoppy bite in the finish. Highly carbonated and light-bodied. Very bland.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 wxman (959) - O’Fallon, Illinois, USA - OCT 24, 2010
Just now rating this after drinking it regularly in the late 80s and early 90s. Used to enjoy Bayern beers at Bert & Ernie’s Pub in Great Falls, MT. This Marzen is their flagship brand and is delicious. Pours a clear amber color with a substantial off white head. Sweet malty aroma. Taste is chewy sweet roasted malts, caramel and some light hop bitterness.
