Taste at Holiday Ale Fest. Dark, deep, and deceptively smooth. Tastes like vanilla and sweet fruit. Hardly any indication of high alcohol.

Draft at sb. Pours a crystal clear dark brown with a loose creamy grayish head that falls. Subdued earthy dark bread nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Nice brown bread crust mid palate, earthy, some soft peppery notes. I have to say thia beer is clean and delightful and must be as close as they have come to the traditional old world mastery of german styles. This is subdued and beautifully restrained for an eisbock.

Draught. Pours a near black color with a small light tan head on it. Nose is very light, actually, with just a hint of some caramel in there. Taste is slightly sweet, with some caramel and toasting in there. Feels smooth and not at all boozy; this hides the 14% very well.

Draught:   Deep ruby, soft sandy colored head, a little lacing.   Moderately bready, fairly sweet but not sticky, some minor dark pitted fruit, plums, dates, and some figs.   Not as heavy or sticky sweet as I would have thought for 14%.   Doesn’t seem to have the heat that most Eisbocks do.   Just comes across as a stronger Bock, but without all the heaviness/chewiness.   Pretty clean, easy to drink... almost too easy.   Does have a touch of cough syrup like profile, but its minor.   Big sweet, molasses like breadiness on the finish.   Bigger and better than expected, and also easier to drink.   While not like a lot of European examples, this one is still enjoyable.

Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured deep, brownish with amber highlights and a thin head. This one will sneak up on ya. Not as sweet as I would of imagined. Clean, dark fruits, loads of malt flavor. A hint f dark cherries and vanilla too.

5 oz. pour at Belmont Station Bier Cafe, pours a hazy bright golden orange with minimal head. Aroma of dark fruits, sweet candied sugar and lager yeast. Flavour of dark fruits, lager yeast, toasted bread, toffee and some chocolate. No trace of alcohol somehow, for a 14% brew. Medium complexity with a finish of toasted bread and some overripe fruits. Nice.
