Commercial Description:
Name changed to Dancing Trout as of 2007. Trout Slayer is called "Crystal Weizen" in Bavaria and is the filtered version of our Bayern Hefeweizen and has a more pronounced wheat flavor and a golden color. Bayern's Trout Slayer is hopped moderately with Hallertauer Perle (Germany), the alcohol content is 5.6% alc./volume. We use malted wheat, two-row Harrington Pale and caramel malt (14° Plato o.g.). Technically speaking, you could call this beer an ale because it is top-fermented. However, this beer has been cold fermented and the maturation time is as long as lager beer (a full 28 days instead of 8-10 days like an ale).

Bottle from my west coast connection sampled with Beerded one. Pours gold no head at all. Aroma of wheat and sweet malts. The flavor is sugary, thin, and caramel. ok beer.

Bottle sampled with Beerded one from his west coast connection. Pours a deep golden with no head. Aroma of wheat, slight breadyness, slight sweetness to the nose. The flavor is slight fruit, slightly sweet, thin, slight caramel malt flavor. Nothing great, but drinkable.

Tap @ Dog & Grog Virginia City, MT. Clear yellow. Aroma is pils with a touch of honey. Flavor is sweet pils with decent hop bitterness in the balance. I prefer a dry tart pils. Will remember to avoid this BMC like micro.

Aroma= very light biscuity malt, with suble hopping earthy Appearance= yellow to light gold, ok head and carbination Flavor quickly fading maltiness into an interesting earthy/dirty hop flavor coupled with possible yeaty notes Palate= med light, I was a little disappointed here Overall= an ok beer. I probably would not buy it again, sort of lifeless, possibly a transition beer for masses.

Bottle at Old Chicago, Billings, MT. Clear golden color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted and had good lacing. Moderate sweet fruity aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.

The label states "mild" and that’s the best word to describe it. It’s good. Easy drinking. The palate dissolves almost instantly. Like a pale/hefe(?) Slightly hoppier though not sweet. Picked up a Bayern mixed 12pack which included their spicy, delicious Maibock.

Bottle:Clear dark gold color with no head. Malty aromas of cloves and mild bananas - nothing great. The taste is similar to a hefe, but thinner and definitely more drinkable in my estimation. Sweet & malty. The carbonation is about average and it has a refreshing feel. But, it isn’t something I would pursue normally. Not really my style.

Golden bodied w. light carbonation. Stale, cardboard hop aroma w. the flavor of a saaz kissed lager. Pretty boring, but w. a delicate estery, fruity finish.
