Commercial Description:
Name changed to Dancing Trout as of 2007. Trout Slayer is called "Crystal Weizen" in Bavaria and is the filtered version of our Bayern Hefeweizen and has a more pronounced wheat flavor and a golden color. Bayern's Trout Slayer is hopped moderately with Hallertauer Perle (Germany), the alcohol content is 5.6% alc./volume. We use malted wheat, two-row Harrington Pale and caramel malt (14° Plato o.g.). Technically speaking, you could call this beer an ale because it is top-fermented. However, this beer has been cold fermented and the maturation time is as long as lager beer (a full 28 days instead of 8-10 days like an ale).

A good beer while camping in Glacier National Park. It was a great beer for a cool crisp night. Wish it had a bit more to the flavor.

12oz bottle, kinda wish it were a 2oz bottle, gold to clear with little to no head, smelled like that bottlecap you found under the bleachers when you were a kid, taste like it too, pretty harsh brew, i struggled to get through it but did, about one tastebud away from being a drainpour.

Orangish red in color with almost no head at all. Not much for a smell and I thought that I was catching a cold when I tried it because it had no taste and no aftertaste at all. I then went to the fridge and grabbed a Busch and sure enough it had taste. This beer is watered down with no taste at all. I was totally disappointed.

A clear amber body under a white foamy head. The aroma was not so much subtle as it was faint. Some wheat and fruit but nothing distinguishable. Weak and watery, the flavor was unappealing. Very much like macro-swill. Bummer.

Mediocre in every way. A bland beer that is ok if you are just hanging out with friends chatting. However, if you want a good beer, go with something else.

Golden/orange color, diminishing white head that left little lacing. Corny hoppy honey aroma. Bitter veggie taste along with hints of hops and yeast as it warmed and a lasing bitterness. A decent mouthfeel. Not a bad beer, but not memorable. Thanks to my future father in law for getting this one for me.

Bottle: Light copper with a moderate cream head. Nose is bready, yeasty with a bit of caramel and some spiciness to it. Mouthfeel is fairly thin and their isn’t much hop presence. I get the impression that even when Bayern wants to do an ale they just can’t quite commit to the hop levels! I like the beer all the same.

Pours a clear orange color, small white head. Aroma is hops, and alcohol. Flavor is sweet hops. Malt is also there. Palate is filled out with sweet malt and overall a nice beer. Thanks to Indiana Red for this brew.
