truegen (132), Puyallup, Washington, USA Mar 23, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pale gold in color. Not much of a head. Nice bready, grassy nose. Sharp, quick hop bite on the tip of the tongue, then sweet malts on the way down. How do you go from Trout Slayer to Dancing Trout? What would Freud say about the artwork? Hmm...
bitbucket (1471), Kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold with a thin and lacy white head. Citrus and floral nose, light body, medium carbonation. Lightly sweet toffee taste with a dry finish. scrizzz (452), kirkland, Washington, USA Jun 29, 2008 definitely different than the trout slayer. completely clear, brighter gold with a pronounced honey notes. smooth throughout, soft with long fruity esters. spagyetti (68), Puyallup, Washington, USA Jun 27, 2008 Bottle. Nice example of a hefe this side of the pond. Nice head, very drinkable, only missing the sense of bubble gum. Perfect after a day "Trout Slaying". DrBayern (880), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Jun 25, 2008 12 oz. bottle on 6/25/08, brought to me by a friend from a recent trip to Montana. <P>Aroma - Starts with a little spiciness, fruity aromas follow, some graininess, and finally a little bubblegum.
Appearance - Clear yellow, medium white head that settles quickly.
Flavor - Fairly sweet up front, honey type flavors, then a slowly building soft bitterness sets in.
Palate - Light body, medium carbonation, faint stickiness, but a soft dry finish ultimately prevails.
Overall - Easy drinking, smooth, slightly sweet, could be a little cleaner and more tart for my tastes. ratman197 (2174), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jun 21, 2008 Bottle poured a hazy golden yellow with a small diminishing off white head. Aromas of wheat, lemon and a hint of yeast. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a slightly dry finish. Flavors of wheat, straw, light citrus and a hint of spice with a smooth lightly dry lightly bitter finish.
