COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Name changed to Dancing Trout as of 2007. Trout Slayer is called "Crystal Weizen" in Bavaria and is the filtered version of our Bayern Hefeweizen and has a more pronounced wheat flavor and a golden color. Bayern's Trout Slayer is hopped moderately with Hallertauer Perle (Germany), the alcohol content is 5.6% alc./volume. We use malted wheat, two-row Harrington Pale and caramel malt (14° Plato o.g.). Technically speaking, you could call this beer an ale because it is top-fermented. However, this beer has been cold fermented and the maturation time is as long as lager beer (a full 28 days instead of 8-10 days like an ale).

Aroma= very light biscuity malt, with suble hopping earthy Appearance= yellow to light gold, ok head and carbination Flavor quickly fading maltiness into an interesting earthy/dirty hop flavor coupled with possible yeaty notes Palate= med light, I was a little disappointed here Overall= an ok beer. I probably would not buy it again, sort of lifeless, possibly a transition beer for masses.

Thanks to IBrew2or3 for a 12oz of this one. Cheers, Dave! Pours a somewhat hazy yellow-orange with a small white head. Nose is sweetness- I get grain, and I am thinking corn, too. There is also some slight fruitiness. Flavor is similar- sweetness to the point that makes me think about corn, slight banana, and slight grain. A bit syrupy in the palate with some mild bitterness into the finish.

One of my favorite beers. I poured one this evening after a workout and it’s going down smooth. I adore the aroma of this beer - so rich. Initially, to me, it tastes slightly bitter but follows with honey and caramel. This would be one of my favorite aftertastes in the wide world of brew. It’s a cold winter evening in Montana and I’m settling in.

12 ounce bottle from a sampler pack. Pours a golden color with a half inch white head that slowly fades. Taste is of malt, caramel, honey and some hops. Similar aroma. Has a full body with a clean finish. Easy to drink and enjoyable. Worth picking up again.

Bottled. Poured near-clear medium golden with a short white head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet honey above all else, with some earthy wheat in there too.. just a touch peppery and fruity.. soft and well-balanced. The flavor opened with tangy wheat and a touch of orange zest.. honey and pale malts supported the core, with tasty honey carrying through the peppery, yeasty finish.. tasty stuff. Light-bodied and effervescent on the palate.. almost too sweet, but it stayed refreshing.. good stuff.

This beer was surprisingly good. Nice and smooth. I was expecting a pilsner or pale ale, but it turned out to be a weisen. It is very smooth and has a subtle sweet perhaps melon lift. Nice solid grain flavor.

Bottle served in a Weizen. Pours light orange with a medium-large white head. Good retention, decent lace. Sweet hay nose and very sweet flavor. Light-medium body, thin yet creamy palate, and a dry, somewhat bitter finish. Not bad but I’d rather have the hefe.

Gold color. Tastes more like a lager than even a light weizen. Sween corn in the flavor and light yeast. Good palate on this beer. Sweet grain finish.

12oz bottle pours slight haze golden/straw with light white head. Aroma of yeast, grass, wheat, and straw. Taste similar to aroma with sweet grain and slight spice not too much going on with flavor. Weak but drinkable.
