2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This one poured with a small light brown head. It had little lacing, was clear and a ruby color. The aroma was light ot average with minimal hop, yeast, or alchohol. It had a light body. soft carbonation and mild malty flavor that was of short duration, moderatley sweet and a light yeasty after taste.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Very deep brown color with ruby highlights when backlit, crystal clear. Moderate beige head forms and fades to a small layer over the beer. Good lacing. Aroma is doughy, slightly sweet and some dark fruit aromas also. Medium bodied, fairly clean tasting. Decent amounts of alcohol are detectable. Caramel seems to be predominant in flavor with a bigger than average hop bitterness. Somewhat earthy from hops? Fair to good dopplebock.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Out of the bottle this brew pours a dark mahogany with a tall light tan head. Fairly sweet malt aroma, mild roast, hint of chocolate and dark fruit. Taste starts sweet, not cloying, but smooth, with dark fruit throughout, and chocolate up front.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours dark brown with very little head and what there is dissipates quickly.
Nose is carmel, bread, hops, chocolate.
Alcoholic warmth, maltiness, seetness, but there's an off flavor--a vegetal aftertatse that seems to me to be infection. Strange--Jurgen's a good brewer, but I do not like the aftertaste that this doppelbock carries with it.

Dark brown with very little off brown head. Nice toasted sweet malt aroma. Very sweet from the start with touches of toasted nuts. Great mouth feel to this creamy roasted finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Very dark, amber-brown colour. A buttery, alcoholic aroma. Smooth mouthfeel, medium to thick bodied. A buttery, malt flavour with a very warming finish. One of the better AMerican doppelbocks that I’ve had.
