CaptainCougar (4633), Rockville, Maryland, USA May 11, 2008 Bottle thanks to kyzr: Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing. Aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel malt and a touch of earthy German hops. Body starts with about average fullness and dark caramely sweet flavor along with some mild bittering hops toward a thinner finish. Decent authenticity, but could be a little thicker.
BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 18, 2008 This is not a terrible take on the style, but it could have used a little more body and flavor. All the textbook characteristics are there, but just not in a large enough capacity. Some fruitcake and caramel flavors, with a touch of candied fruits, and just a hint of bitterness in the finish. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA May 25, 2008 Date: 05/11/2008
