Bottle thanks to kyzr: Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing. Aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel malt and a touch of earthy German hops. Body starts with about average fullness and dark caramely sweet flavor along with some mild bittering hops toward a thinner finish. Decent authenticity, but could be a little thicker.

Aug 18, 2008 This is not a terrible take on the style, but it could have used a little more body and flavor. All the textbook characteristics are there, but just not in a large enough capacity. Some fruitcake and caramel flavors, with a touch of candied fruits, and just a hint of bitterness in the finish.

May 11, 2008 Pours an amber brown color with a tan head. Aroma is caramel, apple, some roast, and toffee. Flavor is malty, caramel, apple, toffee, and a bitter peppery finish.

May 8, 2008 Deep mahogany red-brown, clear, modest tan head. Low aroma of chocolate and banana, same on the palate, medium bodied, low bitterness. Decent.
