Bottle: Deep ruby hued burnt caramel, moderate frothy white head, spotty lacing. Musty caramel corn on the
nose. I have had this one a while, so the nose may be different than normal. Soft sweet pale wheatiness on the
tongue, with some toffee or caramel corn like background. No real banana or bubblegum, more so some musty toffee
sweetness. Moderate body and mouthfeel. Pale toasty wheaty finish. Nothing off, or unclean, but what I can
imagine as an odd changing of Dark Hefe flavors to this caramel or toffee background. Interesting.

Draft at Big Sky. Tastes like bananas, chocolate, and coffee. Light carbonation. No head.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2013 Tap. Pours murky brown with thin, fizzy off-white head; short retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is toasted, caramel, and cookie malts, dates, floral hops, light cherries, and light herbs. Flavor is sweet, bready malts forward with supporting dark fruit esters, light floral hops, and light woody notes; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Bottle. Poura dark. Aroma is sweet. Taste is sweet.caramel malts.but.has a horrible after taste.

On tap. Dark copper with a tan head. Scent is sweet malt. Taste is toasty and some spice.

Out of the bottle from Uptown. Pours a very dark color that is almost orange or red. It has a very nice off white head that is very frothy. The taste is malty with a slightly fruity taste.

Toasted wheat a little caramel a little earth. Pours dark auburn. Thin head. Flavors of toasted wheat light caramel and little darker fruit. No real yeast presence. I was expecting there to.be some. Not bad.

not my thing. That horse blanket aroma and taste with hefes. Funky with light earthy hop, not noticeable per se. Overall it was ok

Strange beer. I only found it to be OK, but I applaud the innovation. Overall, it’s too sweet for me. Malt flavors have a milky-sweet wortiness. Very little, if any, roast, but I think that’s what they were going for. Very soft and faint bitterness. Normally, even with a lack of bitterness, roast can make up for it by balancing out the sweetness. But in this beer’s case, it has a healthy amount of sweetness AND it lacks roast and bitterness. In summary, it’s a pleasant beer, but it’s unbalanced, IMO.
