COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This top-fermented, unfltered Wheat Bock beer is the counterpart to Bayern’s famous Doppelbock Lager. Bayern’s only decoction-brewed beer, the recipe uses five types of malt (Wheat, Pilsener, Carmel, Munich and Chocolate), and has an o.g. of > 17 % Plato, producing a stout 7.5 % Alc. by Vol. As with all Bayern wheat beers, Face Plant surprises with its complex flavor. German Hallertauer Perle hops give this hearty Bock beer a perfectly balanced sweetness.

12 oz. bottle- Pours a nice clear ruby red with a one finger tan head that reduces. Aroma is pretty generic, some sweet brown sugar, wheat, malt, nothing offensive. The taste is smooth, sweet caramel malt, brown sugar, wheat, some yeast, this actually pretty tasty, I like it. Body is a little thinner than I would like, but it makes it very sessionable, I could drink more than one of these. Thanks Bro for sharing, more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

12 oz bottle from a six pack bought at a tiny little store in Montana. Pours opaque dark brown with a medium beige head with decent retention. Aroma is of dark fruits, caramel, light banana. Taste is lightly sweet, tangy and a little savory; no bitterness. A little boozy. Body seems a little thin, texture foamy and a tad watery. Doesn’t taste bad but this might be the boringest weizenbock I’ve ever had. It doesn’t have the clove character I crave in this style.

Malty and toasty up front, this doppelweizen is just rich enough to make sense as a double of the classic dark weizen beer. Mellow but not boring, this beer is what I look for in cold winter months. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to solved plastic cup to drink discretely in the presence of my mother in law. My first wiezen bock. Brown color, off-white head. Aroma is toasty sweet malt. Taste is the same, plus bready yeast. Medium body, lively carbonation. Overall: the bottle art/name reminds me of all of my outdoor winter sport experiences. Sweet, drinkable, very pleasant. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very little aroma..which is a surprise for style what there is is spicy bubblegum Again the flavor is very poor for a Doppel weizen..its non-descript..yeah iots pleasant anough but not what i expected..malty,sugary. Palte is fine to be sure..soft and thick Very very dissapointed

Appearance is a dark amber brown supporting a steady healthy head leaving spotty lace. Smell is faint with dark malt, dark fruits and yeast. Taste of the dark malt, prunes and a little spiciness from the yeast. Mouthfeel has a medium body with a good spike of carbonation. For an American Weizen its not bad with the extra kick.
