12 oz. bottle- I hope this isn’t old, these are supposed to come out in May, right? Pours clear red amber with a thin soapy white head, aroma is dirty syrupy malt, caramel. The taste is all caramel malt, but not as good as it sounds, kind of sickly sweet. The body is thin, carbonation is medium low. It tastes like a sweeter version of an Oktoberfest.

Bottle from Liquid Planet, Missoula. Pours copper with a modest beige head and a toffee aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a bit of dark fruit and a dry slightly bitter finish.

Smooth. Maibock is a perfect foil to the dark beers of winter. Tastes like spring.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a decent one inch light tan head. Taste is of malt, caramel, smoke, grass, flowers, honey and some hops. Similar aroma. Has a nice full body and is a tad creamy. There is a bit of dryness and bitterness in it, especially towards the end. Smooth and very easy to drink. Well worth getting again as it is refreshing and drinkable.

Colour: Golden red. Nose: Over-ripe corn, wet dog, sticky sweet syrup. Blah. Taste: Sweet early malt, peaches and cream combined with rich cherry in the middle, late sweetness but controlled. Terrible nose is saved by a moderate taste and nice appearence but overall this one falls short.

Pours clear orange with a thick beige head that fades leaving some stickiness on the glass. Aroma of earthy grains, floral and earthy hops, caramel, some apricot. Taste is also earthy bitterness with a thick malt balance. Very flavorful, medium body, soft carbonation. Finishes with some husky burnt grain and bitter hop resin.

I hate lagers and yet this maibock didn’t get poured down the sink. Not a bad malty signature, would revisit.

12 oz bottle. Pours a nice darker orange, somewhat hazy. aroma is very sweet. cereal, honey, good malty aroma. taste is much like you would expect given the aroma. medium body and very malty with cereal, bread. creamy, the finish is minor hops but doesnt stick around too long. another good beer from bayern.
