DuffMan (1961), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 6, 2008 Draft. Clear orange-amber, dense orange-tinted head leaving early lace. Fruity toffee aroma. Sweet malt (marzipan) and light fruit (apricot) in perfect balance, very flavourful. Moderate bitter finish. Very good. bitbucket (1566), Kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear orange with a lacy off-white head. Aroma of hay, toffee, flowers and mint? Medium body and active carbonation. Sweet caramel-coated taste with a crisp finish. Skyview (2901), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 7, 2007 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle via trade with kyzr. Pours a clear golden orange brew with an average fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a nice ring and spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, candi sugar, some sweet pears and a touch of flowery hops. Taste is smooth, creamy, medium bodied with a slightly sweet caramel malt and toffee that is very enjoyable. Finish continues the sweet flavor and a slight toffee aftertaste. Taste more of the malt than any hop bitterness in this brew. Reid (998), Salem, Oregon, USA Jul 3, 2006 12 oz brown bottle, with a great label featuring a fierce looking mountain goat in an alpine wild flower meadow.
Nice enough looking Bock dark amber , slightly hazy with a small light tan head, attractive.
Aroma is mostly malty,,its rather subdued but it is ok.
Flavour is mainlly MALTY..bitter-sweet and slightly fruity, there is hops present but they only add a nice feel to the beer.Slight lactic like sourness, which I actually enjoyed.
Pretty average on the palate, long lasting aftertaste, some alcohol detected i suspect this is around 6.5%..but I could be wrong.
Over all I found this quite drinkable and pleasant. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 6, 2004 Reddish pour and a light head. Alcohol malt and citrus hop aromas. Nice citrus flavors. Lemons mostly. Mellow malts. Tangy palate and a fruity finish.
