COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle at Grand Tasting, Ueno Park SAKURAAA! -RBJG#2. Pours a clearish brown with an off-white head. Quite sweet with aromas of caramel and some banana. Hints of cheese and coco nut. Medium to full bodied. Medium carbonation.

Bottle, thanks to TimE, 07/06/2013. Pours hazy, muddy amber, thin fizzy head quickly fades. Aroma definitely tropical, as promised, pineapple, fleshy passion fruit, lifesaver-like candy sweetness, light caramel with lager yeast, grassy hop notes. Taste is lightly fruity, candy caramel and mild chocolate notes, nice citrus hops in the finish, mild bitterness. Light body. Interesting, this one grew on me, some interesting hop character.

Bottle at RBJG#2 - Grand Tasting Ueno Park. Clear amber - white head. Nice tropical hoppy, sweet malty, fruity, fresh hoppy, coconut, sorachi ??, bitter notes, light milkey notes.

My Bottom Line:
Pineapple bubblegum and floral hops scent light caramel, whipping up strange crème brûlée impressions.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the muddled pale brown.
-This is a Bock?!? I presume they simply meant ‘strong beer’…
-Carbonation is on the low side.
-This is simply a mix of ingredients that doesn’t work for me. And it’s hard to imagine this being lagered at all as well…

Bottle.

Bottled. Dark amber to medium brown with a tall, fine, off-white head. Big tropical fruit nose: papaya, durian, sweet orange, grass. Very round and fruity but also a little stinky. Fascinating that he got this with hops. There is caramel and chocolate in the background too. Flavor is like Belgian orange chocolate. Very fruity, almost tropical, with chocolate and toffee. A very interesting bock. Kind of crazy, but very interesting and fun.
