truegen (132), Puyallup, Washington, USA Sep 24, 2005 Sampled this at the Big Mountain Brewfest in Whitefish a few weeks ago. I thought it was the best beer poured that day. Perkeo’s spot on with the Vienna lager comparison. Too many folks are looking for big gravity and hops in this style. Enjoy it for what it is--an excellent lager, true to its roots. Zach Diesel (907), Sedona, Arizona, USA Sep 9, 2003 caramel and nutty aroma, dark brownish red, good body, malty and semisweet with a lingering hop finish DA (2280), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Aug 29, 2007 Pours dark red/copper with a thin beige head. Malty caramel flavor, with a cherry and sweet bread finish. Light on the hops, just enough to keep it from being cloying. Long roasty caramel finish. Very rich oktoberfest beer, while not one you could probably drink a few steins of without feeling totally full, still a nice beer. cathcacr (504), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 22, 2007 Hard to go wrong with this style, from the examples I’ve tried so far. Easy to get a bocky/bready aroma, somewhat harder to get a good head presentation. kyzr (894), Bozeman, Montana, USA Oct 10, 2002 Has more roasted falvor than I was expecting. Good rich color, medium head. Finishes with a little sweetness to it.
