3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
honey golden, good sized head of very fine bubbles with decent lacing overall.
Nose is yeasty, malty wih the fresh aroma of noble hops springing out of the glass!
The flavor is balanced, with some bread like flavor and a hint of banana, offset with just the right hop bitterness. Finish is clean, mid-dry and a slightly bitter edge on the tail end.
Jurgen Knoller (the brewer) brags uo this beer something fierce on his site, and although this isn’t the best Pilsner on "either side of the Atlantic," it IS pretty damn good.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark golden color with a moderate white head on it. Nose has some corn as well as a little skunk on there,, like this has been sitting too long. Taste is a bit bitter up front, but has a residual sweetness that doesn’t sit well. Not a fan of this one.

Jaune claire avec un petit col blanc. L’arôme des cereals. Le goût est aussi des cereals avec un peu d’acidité.

On tap at Brooklyn. Very much a pils. Grassy, grainy with lemon and green hops. Crisp, well-carbonated, slightly dry, mildly bitter.

Best by Sept, 2011
Have had this many times via tap and growler and have really dug it. Although this review does not bode well for the beer, I can vouch for my loyalty to the beer on tap. Perhaps this beer was simply too close to the best by date as the crispy taste touch and smells have died out.
A: pours a nice light grainy ale with hazy clarity. No head formation. No lace. Nothing to look at.
S: Sweet creamed corn with soft yeast tones. A wee bit of grassy hops in there. Not nearly as clean smelling as I recall.
T: Grain, grass, yeast, hint of bitterness, creamed corn again. Some metallic tones here and there.
M: Medium bodied with sharp carbonation and an off-dry finish.
O: This beer is not so nice in the bottle, but I will contest that on draft the beer is much better.

12floz/355ml bottle into a shaker. Served cold.
Aroma: mildly bready and yeasty. not a lot of hop.
Appearance: Translucent bright yellow body. Very, very sparse head.
Taste: Moderate bready, yeasty flavor. Malty. So-mild-it’s-not-detectable hop. I didn’t get any hop out of this.
Palate: Light bodied. Short malty finish.
Overall: "I just had Bayern’s pilsener! You should totally try it! It’s fantastic!" - Probably not something I’ll say any time soon. It’s ok, it just doesn’t stand out of from the other average pilseners that are out there.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Slightly hazy honey coloured gold body with a thin and very fast-dying white head. Aroma of metal, alcohol, light malt, the slightest touch of hops and bunches more metal. Light-bodied; Nice malt flavour with a watery and mild hoppiness and sweetness and nothing deep at all. Aftertaste is thin with only some light fruit showing and the slightest bit of malt - not much flavour here. Overall, a pretty bad offering, even in the middle of summer. Not offensive, but not showing very many nice characteristics - more of a light beer than anything else. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 25-April-2013 for US$1.76 sampled at home in Washington on 06-August-2013.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Clear pale gold with a small white head. Corn syrup pilsner malt and light DMS / sweet cabbage aroma with minimal aroma hops (light lemon laundry soap). Similarly dirty flavor with sweet carrot and cabbage and some gravel / concrete minerality. Semi-sweet, fizzy carb, medium-low acid, watery texture. All sorts of problems with this one.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
From 12oz bottle to shaker. Pours a straw yellow, transparent with thin white head. Smell is pretty bland, hints of grass with light hop. Taste is bready, slight hop flavor with a sweeter finish, pretty light body for a 5% beer. Finishes nicely, little fizz at the end. Not a bad beer, however not very complex.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle from Buckeyeboy. Thanks! It pours a pale yellow color with a decent white head. The aroma has some nice pilsner maltiness with hints of lemongrass and noble hops. The flavor is clean and crisp with some spicy noble hops, crisp carbonation and a dry finish. Very nice pils.
