(12 oz bottle: Belmont Station in Portland, OR) Sweet and estery nose is pleasant, but not very reminiscent of a German Hefeweizen. And, as the nose indicates, the flavor is also fairly estery, and mildly sweet. I’m picking up a lot of ripe orange fruits throughout this beer. I’m not getting the traditional banana or clove, and not really all that much wheat either, so this beer is really pretty far off the mark if this is intended to be a German Hefeweizen. Light-medium bodied, and lacking any crispness on the back end, so it just kind of sits there and gets tiring after awhile. Orange golden body is fully cloudy. The small, white head quickly settles to a film, but unfortunately, then it slowly fades to a ring. Really, just a fruity, light beer and not really something that should be labeled a hefeweizen.

Bottle. Slightly hazy light golden pour with a small white head. Aroma of yeast and banana. Medium to light palate, some carbonation. Taste is light, refreshing, mild citrus, some yeast. Easy drinker.

12 oz. bottle- Pours almost clear straw yellow with almost no head and below average lacing. The aroma is yeast, bananas and wheat. The flavor is actually not bad, it has all the trademarks of a good American hefe, full flavored, bananas and wheat dominate. Carbonation is medium low, but that wasn’t that big of a deal. After drinking half of the glass or so, I am tasting metallic flavors. Taste goes from a 6 to a 5 and overall goes from a 13 to a 12, but the bottle is expired so maybe a fresh one would not have those negative aspects.

Bottle served in a Weizen. Yellow-orange with a haze. Big white head. Good retention, minimal lacing. Sweet wheat aroma, effervescent yeast, and oranges. Medium-light body, creamy texture, and a dry finish. Good traditional hefeweizen.

On tap at the brewery. Pours cloudy gold with a thin beige head and a sour wheat aroma. There is a straightforward wheat flavor with a yeast chaser.

Pours hazy gold, foamy beige head fades. Aroma of citrus, banana. Taste is more bitter than most German Hef’s, just a little more American to me. Sharp flavor, short bitter finish, yeast flavors. Medium body, smooth carbonation.

Meh, pours cloudy marigold color. Virtues include a crisp, refreshing taste. Nice and smooth with a soft palate. Wouldn’t have thought I’d like this that much.

Bottle... Poured an unfiltered golden/orange with a thick white head. Wheat malts and honey, sweet esters on the nose. Big foamy textured palate, almost like having just the fluffiness of foam. Light on the hops, and fruity, wheat malts. Sweet, clove spices and a lemon-like citrus in the end.

Very tasty and refreshing. Pours a hazy gold color. Not hoppy at all, a little citrus maybe? Of course the wheat is there too. All in all, a thumbs up from me. Nice for a hot afternoon.
