DrunkAsASkunk (848), Lynnwood, Washington, USA Sep 18, 2006 This beer pours a cloudy yellowish color with a slight yellow head and decent lacing. Lemon and wheat aroma with a hint of citrus and hay. HELLO Mr. wheat and hay man. Mildly refreshing citrus with malty overload and little hop presence. Definite citrus and grapefruit presence with chives and clove in the finish. Sweet and cardboardy in the finish with heavy bitterness and mild carbonation levels. Not overwhelming and little alcohol presence..ho hum. A little too wheaty to drink more than one, but a nice change of pace beer.
jjpm74 (3448), Connecticut, USA Nov 1, 2008 Bottle courtesy of kyzr. Pours a hazy amber with a thin white head. Smells of lemons, wheat , hay. Tastes tarte with some bubblegum hints and a nice semi-sweet finish. SODAK14 (63), Rapid City, South Dakota, USA Sep 27, 2008 Not impressed at all by this beer. Pours a cloudy-orange. Taste is nonmemorable. An average beer at best. BillKismet (1476), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 20, 2008 Cloudy, luminescent straw-gold with 1/2 inch thick, uniform head. Mild and refreshing yeast puffs off the glass. Wheat and light phenols. Pleasant. Flavor is wheaty, slightly tart, and distinctly grainy with some corn notes. This beer resembles a German Hefe in aromatic qualities, but in flavor, it is rather closer to an American style, though a light cloviness plays in on the finish, truegen (138), Puyallup, Washington, USA Aug 16, 2008 12oz. bottle. Slightly cloudy gold in color. Aroma is a bit muted, with a tendency toward grain and grass, rather than the typical yeasty fruit and spice of most hefes. Flavor has a touch of banana/clove, but is a little too light on the tongue. All that being said, it’s a nice summer brew, probably tuned toward swaying American tastes. I do appreciate this brewery’s efforts, but I’m glad I have some Ayinger Dunkel as backup. spikester (460), Salem, Oregon, USA Aug 6, 2008 Pours cloudy amber with small white head, minimal lacings. Sweet malts with a good amount of bitter euro-style hops. Dry slightly bitter finish. Decent American version of a Hefeweisen. Good summer beer.
