COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Pale Ale is brewed with crystal and other specialty malts that have been chosen for their aroma, color and flavor. We strive to neither under or over hop and believe strongly in balance--choosing just the right amount of hops to offset the sweetness of the malt. We make 9 hop additions over a ninety minute period to bring out the flavor and aroma profiles in an exceptional fashion.

12 oz bottle - Dark amber, lots of floaties, thin white head. Light pineapple-citirc tones with just a whiff of toasted biscuit and molasses throughout. Muted citric and tropical notes round with further hints of molasses and grains from beginning to end. Thin and watery, soft carboantion, mild hop finish. Certainly has potential, but this particular effort was similar in nature to my first ever Mr. Beer homebrew. Just keepin it real...

I was looking forward to trying this after hearing about a new local brewery. Unfortunately, this beer did not deliver. The pour yields a slightly-hazed orange brew with a short head and no maxim. The nose brings he score down right away. Wet cardboard, soaked vegetable water, and a general soapy character pervade and I can’t get any hops out of it. The taste is more of the same and I really don’t get much of anything that would even indicate that this is from the pale ale category. Feel is off and soapy. I did not enjoy this at all. Hopefully this is just a boil and future beers get much better. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 12-22-2010

Murky chestnut color, small beige edge head. Nothing pale about this beer! Aroma of rising bread dough, caramel, light spice, and a touch of citrus. Taste is very malty with a bit of bitterness at the finish. Full mouthfeel for the abv. Not bad for an early try.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2011 Split a bottle with dbarnold in December. Bottle from gillys. Pours a brown color, slightly lighter than the label. Just like with the bottle I brought ben4321, something just seemed wrong or spoiled. I want to like the brewery from my home town, maybe the porter I have is better.

Location: 12 oz bottle from jcos, 2/27/11

Aroma:The nose has light crystal malts, earthy notes, and a touch of vegetation
Appearance: It pours a cloudy dark orange color with a creamy off-white head
Flavor:The taste is rather off, some rotten veggies, soap, and a touch of hops, bad aftertaste
Palate:The body is fairly watery, a touch of creaminess, and an unfortunately long duration
Overall Impression: Since they decided to open this nano-brewery just down the street from where I used to work, I was very interested to try their beer. I gotta say, after drinking this, I’m pretty disappointed. This wasn’t good at all. Basically a bad home brew. I wanted it to be better, but it just wasn’t. I can’t imagine these guys will make too much money selling a beer this bad for what they are charging for it. I called the duration unfortunately long because of how bad the aftertaste is. Both figuratively and literally, this one leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Either I got an infected bottle or the other raters of this one are the parents of the brewer, because no one could praise the beer I just drank like that unless their own child made it.

I discovered this brewery in Rockville, MD by chance and was lucky enough to locate a beer store that had a few cases on hand. It pours a brown amber without much head. There is a roasted character to the aroma. To Baying Hound’s credit, this Ale is well-balanced as advertised. It’s smooth and crisp. I like it! It would be a great session beer.

Nice and smooth. Balanced and very drinkable. Can’t wait to try it with food.
