2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle, from a local Total Wine. Poured a slightly hazy copper color with a pretty large, fluffy white head. Aroma was sweet, but light malts. Notes of light hops, with some sweet grains. Highly carbonated. Wish I liked this one more.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Previous rating nailed the aroma: lemon, soap and yeast. The flavor is wheaty-yeasty. A little coriander spiciness as well. Appearance is a murky golden-amber-yellowyishbrown, not much head.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 5/20/13
Aroma: The nose of this one has some lemon, a little spice, yeast, a little corn, and some soap
Appearance: A hazed golden-orange color with a thick, lasting, frothy white head and plus lace
Flavor: The flavor is yeasty and a little sweet, it is also soapy and medicinal, and the finish is way off
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has an alright feel, but the off-finish hurts the drinkability
The same components that worked okay in the nose come through in the flavor, but the mix just doesn’t really work at all. It’s hard to give a very high score to a beer where the flavor is this poor. As an ex-resident, I really wanted a beer named after Rockville, MD to be better. Too bad, but hey, at least it is a nice looking beer!

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Hazy straw color (thought the style is supposed to be clear). Didn’t get much on the nose. Flavor to me was slightly bitter and slightly tart. Don’t think it is very representative of the style.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Appearance: thick, hazy yellow-orange pour with a thin, short white head with decent lacing. Aroma: cascade hops, yeast, a hint of corn meal. Taste: pretty hoppy, with notes of citrus, a hint of dank earth, some lightly flowery esters, and some funk. Finish: slightly bitter, a little astringent/medicinal, with lingering funk and some ritz crackers. Notes: Definitely not a traditional kolsch. Pour is cloudy, and the flavors and aromas are not consistent with the style either. It’s not a bad beer, but it’s much more of an American saison in my opinion, thanks to the funky notes and prevalent hops. Bottle from the brewery.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from brewery: Pours a hazy light copper colour with not too much head. Aroma is yeast and hops. Not too interesting. Kind of has a homebrew taste about it. The hop bite in this one is pretty nice though. Some small aftertaste.
