COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As a Bière de Garde, Acadie offers the style’s prominent malty aroma. A freshly poured beer is highly carbonated and bronze colored with a nice, thick off-white head. Malty with an underlying caramel sweetness, Acadie finishes medium-dry. The restrained use of continental hops provides its balanced hop bitterness. Acadie offers the smooth roundness of an artisanal farmhouse ale, thus this French style beer is terrific paired with most any cuisine. It wonderfully harmonizes, and has the uncanny ability to bring a tableful of contrasting flavors together – think platters of pickled okra and freshly-sliced tomatoes, hand-crafted goat cheeses, a sliced baguette, a nice hogshead cheese and cutting board layered with sliced tasso and andouille. Acadie brings diverse flavors together for an unforgettable meal. Acadie is brewed year round and approaches 6% ABV, with an IBU of 20. The original gravity of this French artisanal ale is 1.065, with a final gravity at 1.016. The restrained use of elegant Strisselspalt and Saaz hops offer a perfectly balanced bitterness with a very discreet hop aroma.

Bottle - Pours deep amber/orange tint, soapy white head. Nose of biscuit, caramel, earthy...and spice. Dough-like sip, hints of fruit and spice, malty. Hops in finish.

Bottle grabbed in NOLA mostly because it was a bier de garde tick; my 10th! Pours a clear copper color with active carbonation and a foamy, khaki head. Nice aroma of sweet malt and earthy yeast. Slightly bitter flavor with some toffee in the background. Fairly traditional biere de garde palate but I am far from an expert.

Bottle. Filtered amber orange with a tall white head. Aroma impression is brown malt, honey, fall leaves, toasted grain, toffee, browned apple and banana; aroma hops are quietly floral with a generic fruit candy character. Minerally, light metal and vulcanized rubber off-effects. Medium+ bodied, low carbonation, low acidity, medium+ sweetness is flabby and syrupy in the mouth.

Bottle 355ml. Pours deep golden with low white head. No lacing. Aroma is of malt, grain. Taste is of malt, sugar, bitterness. Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Overall: OK, a bit bland. Lots of malt features. Weirdly english-tasting.

Poured copper with a slight haze, frothy light beige head. Grassy, slightly floral aroma. Taste...underwhelming after a promising start. Not bad, but the maltiness came through a tad early and prominently, roasted caramel, decent hop finish with some mild spice. Better as it warmed.

I don’t know what is up with this beer. I trade a lot for Bier De Garde, like south Hampton. This doesn’t fit into the bjcp category at all and over all its kind of funky.

Pours an orange golden color with off-white head. Biscuit, bread, cereal and some grass on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a yeasty note.

Dark hazy orange-caramel-amber color with a bubbly eggshell head. Aroma of caramel, fresh bread, and a little sweet fruit. Taste is bready and yeasty, a little sweet and a little bitter. Medium bodied and slightly dry.

Wow, I hope this is just a bad bottle. Clear amber with a thin yellowish head. Aroma is mostly just musty. Taste is inoffensive but lost behind the aroma.

Cloudy orange, medium head, very hazy inside. Aroma is very musty, touch of cooked vegetables. There is a polleny perfumeyness. Very sulfuric. Crap it’s not that good and I have a six pack of it. The flavor is flowery and earthy. Touch of strawberry and mild plum. Buttery feel, with a gritty exterior. I don’t recommend this often, but you should drink this straight for the bottle.
