COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Style
Biere de Mars is a centuries old, French farmhouse seasonal brew. Released every March and traditionally crafted with the farm’s freshest crop of barley, wheat and hops, these brewers spent months aging what was considered their finest beer of the year.

Story
Bayou Teche Brewing’s Courir de Mardi Gras is our artisanal version of this French ale. Biere de Mars is historically crafted with Pilsner, Munich, and a large dose of wheat malt that lends the beer a distinct, Spring-like quality. Our Courir de Mardi Gras is seasonally brewed for pre-Lenten celebrations.

This beer has a decent taste but it’s not much to write home about. I found it to be a middle of the road beer. Sure I would have it again, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it.

Bottle share w/Travlr. Deep gold pour with a small head. Cereal, somewhat spicy, Charleston Chew candy. Funky yeast. Taste is similar. Strong chewy malts. Brown sugar and banana. Light floral accents. Medium body, soft carbonation. Unremarkable.

Bottle - Fruity esters and sweet malts. Pale gold with a small bubbly white head. Caramel sweetness with a light bitterness and long sweet honey like finish. Highly carbonated. Nice and sweet with some body, i like it.

On tap at Avenue Pub post-Mardi Gras. Weird, grainy, slightly vegetal, thin, bleh.

Bottle shared on 3/20 by my friend Nicola. Filtered Budweiser appearance, medium head of fine white bubbles. Highly carbonated. Aroma is faint: sweet grain, fruity esters. Taste is watery, grainy with mild hop bitterness. Almost like a watery helles lager with pale-ale bitterness. Forgettable.

Dark golden in the glass, grainy nose. The beer starts malty and spicy. Rough but great. The mainpart is highly drinkable, a bit grainy, a bit spicy from the French yeast (or its style) I think. The aftertaste is smooth-rough, spicy and grainy, slightly bitter.
Interesting session beer in the Bičre de Garde-style. --> 10/12/10/10

Pours a golden amber with a thin white head. Aroma is slightly yeasty. Slight spicyness to it. Flavor has some bitterness and is somewhat malty. Finishes clean and very dry. Nice beer.

Tasted at a tasting event. Golden pour with a big head. Buscuit, caramel, grass. But limited aroma. Decent carbonation.

12oz bottle shared by someone who was not me. Dudeabide, I think. Clear golden orange amber color. Thin off-white head. Couple dots of lace. Medium plus body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Kind of crisp, more dry texture. Moderate bitter taste, more dry sweet. Good toasty malt, biscuity aroma. Light grassy hop. Good American bier de grade, satisfyingly hoppy. Nice stuff.
