COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
LA-31 Bière Pâle is crafted with imported Belgian malts and American hops and yeast. This is a distinct new style of beer - no one else in the country makes anything like it. LA-31 Bière Pâle is traditionally brewed ale; it is bronze colored and has a biscuity malt center. The beer has herbal hop flavors and a gentle, mellow bitterness. This full flavored beer is crafted to enhance the unique cuisine and lifestyle of South Louisiana.

A newcomer in the beer aisle at the SAQ, hooray! Pours a clear golden with a medium white head that leaves nice lacing. Some sulfur? Nose is of cereals and husk, shy on the hoppy aromatics. Taste is lightly sweet, moderately bitter and loaded with the same whole grains. Body is light to medium and carbonation high. Overall this is pretty old school and not exactly good or tasty. Drinkable but I won’t be buying it again.

Not your average pale ale, this one is herbal, spicy and a bit fruity. Very low on bitterness for the style and ultimately quite watery. Not so good..

I believe there is a bad batch on the market. This beer was a go to favorite and recently, I’ve had the beer at two different locations and it tastes like it has an infection. Truly disappointing.

Poured an amber is color from the bottle with aromas of malt, light pine and some floral hop notes. Flavors matched the aromas a basic pale ale decent enough to get the job done with out too much complaints.

Rated on 02-19-2013 at Hopjacks PIzza Kitchen & Taproom, Pensacola, FL. This draft beer’s appearance is a small beige head, golden transparent body, no visible carbonation observed, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is herbal hops and bready malt. The flavor is lightly bitter, pine, herbal hops, and bready malt. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer is quaffable and very easy to drink.

12 oz bottle at French 75 (New Orleans, LA). Decided on this after a couple cocktails. Pours a gently hazed golden amber hue, a bit darker and dulled into the middle. Frothy offwhite head is a mellow layer, small lacing and stick around. Aromas are earthy bitterness, florals and grass meet a gentle waft of pine, bready malts, rosehips, dough, and straw. Initial is a soft lighter body, supporting bready malts, cereal grain meet a decent hop character, earthy and pine elements are the focus here shying away from any sort of citrusy or fruity bite. A gentle bready malt middle, firmer bitterness returns as we hit the backend, earthy and a bit boring but bitter enough to stay away from any sort of mushy, malty, flabby Pale. Instead what you have here is a solid drinker, a bit of a boring hop profile with gentle maltiness, fair drinkability. Not bad.
