LA-31 Bière Pâle is crafted with imported Belgian malts and American hops and yeast. This is a distinct new style of beer - no one else in the country makes anything like it. LA-31 Bière Pâle is traditionally brewed ale; it is bronze colored and has a biscuity malt center. The beer has herbal hop flavors and a gentle, mellow bitterness. This full flavored beer is crafted to enhance the unique cuisine and lifestyle of South Louisiana.

Bottle - Simple logo but I like it. Thin white head... aroma of citrus and hay, earthy-yeasty-cheesy (that’s my new word) flavors with hoppy bitterness that’s a bit on the skunk side, however, I like it with something spicy. I’m perhaps biased with this brew, but many factors are involved when tasting and I honestly liked this beer. C’est bon.

Bottle shared at the Houston RB July tasting. Thanks to me. Pale yellow hazy. Nose is yeasty and musty, with a tinge of Belgium yeastiness coming through.Taste is the same, with some hay added in! Body is thinnish and a bit harsh. Overall drinkable though and not a first effort from the new Cajun brewery.

Bottle from Bleeng.
Pours an average yellow with a slightly lively body and an aroma of orange-infused hay. Flavor is pilsner malt and a touch of dry hay. Average mouthfeel. Typical pale.

Had this one on draft at Avenue Pub. Appearance: The beer was a nice golden orange with nice white head. Lacing present throughout and creates nice webbing. Smell: Nice pungent hop aroma with hints of citrus. Taste: Nicely balanced pale ale. Has a wonderful hop kick which is balanced nicely with the malty sweetness. The hops provide a nice citrus flavor. I could drink this all day. Mouthfeel: Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall: This is a very well done pale ale. I originally had a bad experience with this beer in the bottle but on draft it was very drinkable and what one should expect with a pale ale. With this company Louisiana is slowly becoming a serious contender for great breweries in the South.

Bottle. Pours pale amber with a quickly disappearing off-white head. Nutty malts, slight floral hop in the nose. Some bitter hop, citrus, nutty, spicy hop, peppery taste. Louisiana beer for Louisiana? Yeah, definitely.

Poured with a thin head and murky, apricot color. Hoppy nose. Smooth entry that transitioned softly to a moderately bitter pale ale finish.

Had another of this breweries’ beers a couple of hours ago at a local bar and it was decent. So, I had high hopes for this one. Let down. However, I did get it at a quick mart, so can’t expect too much. Poured with decent white head and some lace. Color is a clear amber. Flavor is light struck and a bit skunky. Hops taste a bit stale too. And maybe oxidized - wet paper. Body is ok and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor. Wont’ finish the bottle.
