LA-31 Bière Pâle is crafted with imported Belgian malts and American hops and yeast. This is a distinct new style of beer - no one else in the country makes anything like it. LA-31 Bière Pâle is traditionally brewed ale; it is bronze colored and has a biscuity malt center. The beer has herbal hop flavors and a gentle, mellow bitterness. This full flavored beer is crafted to enhance the unique cuisine and lifestyle of South Louisiana.

Bottle. Eye-pleasing murky amber/orange. Aromas of citrus, malt and cherry hard candy. Nice gritty texture. Good bitterness from both hops and alcohol, finishing with a young wood aftertaste. Straightforward and likeable.

355 ml bottle bought at the SAQ in Marché Jean-Talon (Montreal) on Octobre 16, 2015. Hazy copper, small head. Typical pale malt aroma, light fruitiness. The taste is about the same, light spicy fruit notes, green herb bitterness. Fairly drinkable!

Cloudy orange pour, finger of pancake head. Nose is malt. Bitter. Middle is biscuit and Pils malt with citrus hops. Finish is bitter, but not long.

Bouteille 355ml..

This is a good hot day pale ale. I had this one in New Orleans so it was well fitting for the day. Light and clean, refreshing, very smooth. These go down quick.

Bottle from SAQ. Hazy amber pour with thin white head. Aroma is funky, light grape, vegetal notes, decaying grass clippings kind of vegetal grassy notes, toasted malt notes. Taste is semi sweet, light hoppy flavor, caramel, long lingering vegetal and mineral flavor, some iron, earthy finish. Palate is med bodied, med carbonation. Bleh.

355ml bottle from SAQ. Dark golden, slightly hazy body, big white head with good retention and decent amount of lacing. Aroma of grains, boiled vegetables, hay and peppercorn. Taste surprises with the amount of hops, slightly unpleasant herbs, caramel, grains, raisins, booze. Meh.

How: Bottle (355 ml) at home. Bought at SAQ.

>>> A decent but boring Pale Ale with a mild weird raisins taste.

+ Good malt backbone
There’s a weird raisins presence in taste that hinders drinkability
Not much hops presence

Flavors: Grass, peppery, moderate spiciness, raisins, cereals
