3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle... Pours a clear, beautiful copper color with a small, quickly-vanishing, white head. The nose delivers fireplace smoke, caramel and spicy grains. Full-bodied with soft carbonation. The flavor is of caramel interwoven with moderate campfire smoke. Mildly sweet, grassy finish. I have to go against the grain here. I dig this beer. Bottle courtesy of garmonbozia!

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
12oz bottle courtesy of Pari9869. Cheers, Sam! Pours a hazy brown with an off-tan head. Nose is campfire smoke with some light wheat bread-y notes. Flavor is similar- smoke dominates and light bread around it. Interesting idea, medium in body for the style with lingering barbecue coal- type smoke in the finish. I can see this being a great marinade beer.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: AUG 9, 2012 6 pack from Rouse’s. Pours a cloudy amber. There is a decent smokiness in the aroma which is tainted by sour grain and metallic notes. A few sips in and the smoke wanes in the face of the sour/pennies qualities. I was excited by this concept, but it has not been pulled off successfully. Needs way more smoke and more cleanliness in general.

So I’m still trying to work on this 6 pack. It’s pretty bad. The off flavors are abundant and aggressive. Almost any bad flavor one can get from a beer is here: pennies, sweat, eggs, spoiled milk. The smoke quickly becomes forgettable, it’s super weak anyway. Just a train wreck of a drink. I can’t even finish any more of these.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle. Amber color. White thin head. Aroma is toasted wheat. Smells sweet. Thin body. Tastes of toasted cereal and an odd wheat ale tartness. Not at all like any smoke beer I’ve ever tasted. (3370)

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown, small to medium mostly diminishing head. Moderate malty and lightly sweetish aroma with light roasted malt, light sourness and faint smokiness. Body is light to medium, flavor is light roasted malt with light sweetness. Finish is short to average malty - faint wheat and dryish., light roasted malt and faint smokiness, light sourness. bBt thin-bodied "rauch bier" - could use more body and smokiness. Not so sweet, though.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Thx to me mom for this one. Smoke wheat herb lemon orange candy aroma. The smoke isn’t quite hickory liquid smoke but it leans in that direction. I really dig this aroma. The taste is average at best but totally drinkable. Wheat smoke and lots of smoke finish with a light citrus in and out finish. Toasty malts and smoothness. Drank it and bored of reviewing today.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark copper body with a minimal fizzy off-white head that faded to a partial covering. The nose is pretty decent, nice campfire smokiness, though it’s fairly light, with some darker wheat, slightly earthy. The flavor is a mix of rauch malt and earthy wheat with some light yeast esters. Medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Not quite smoky enough for my tastes, but then I love Smoked beers.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nice smoky, malty aroma from a clear amber pour. The flavor is smoky malt with a nice bitter balance. A little thin at the end and maybe a bit too much carbonation, but not bad.
