At an trinkgut in Koln Germany, amber/brown, huge fluffy head, toasting, little woodburn, some spices, bitter, nice one

(bottle) pours a dark ruby colour with a bubbly off-white head. aroma of herbal hops and light malts. flavour again predominantly of herbal hops, with a grainy pale malt aftertaste. medium carbonation and body. not really much of a dunkles.

(swing top bottle) Clear, ruby dark amber colour with a big but not very persistent light-beige foamy head. Sour doughy, minimal toasted malty nose with sugar beet and gassy notes. Sweet and slightly sour flavour with a faint touch of bitterness, light to medium bodied with a medium carbonation. Toasty malty, slightly sugary and leafy taste with faint notes of caramel and cacao; moderately dry and roasty, bitter and sour doughy finish. Like a mediocre Schwarzbier from the east (14.X.08).

Swing top bottle. Brown color. Malty aroma with toffee and a hint of milk chocolate. Malty, caramelly flavor, flowery hops in the background. Nice and welcoming beer.
