Clear red brown color with pillowy off white head. Nutty aroma with roasted malt aspect. Clean and easy drinking. Not too sweet. Slightly crisp. Easy drinking year round.

Being dark is usually a redeeming feature. I remember being mashed up on resin melted into yoghurt or something. Nuts off. Sitting opposite a couple of houses with mates, one house was white and bright and attractive, the other was dark, moody. We all commented on this and slowly drifted in our zombie-like state over the road towards them. When we got there I realised that everyone had been pulled in by the bright lights and beauty of the attractive house. Not me, I was alone in front of the moody house, pulled in by the darkness. Thin.

For a dark ale it seems very light in all characteristics. It misses in aroma and taste the most.

Bottle in Madrid, 500 ml. Head: nice beige foam. Colour: clear brown. Aroma: hops, caramel, roasted malt. Taste: bitter-sweet. Palate: refreshing, medium bitter=sweet finish, low CO2. Overall: very nice.

Bottled, 0.50l. Clear dark brown color with large creamy brownish head and lively bubbles. Aroma of herbal hops, grass, lightly roasted malt and mild trace of skunkiness. Taste starts with fresh grainy malt, followed light roasty, with crisp mouthfeel and moderate bitter and medium long aftertaste. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Very drinkable, but something’s missing in it...

On tap at Hommage, Marburg. Nice dark color, head is okay... Strong aroma, missing sweetness... Not the best dark beer...

Black with little head. Soft and watery with a touch of char. A little waterbut nice never the less.

Poured a medium brown with a diminishing off white head. Aroma of mild sweet caramel malt. Medium body, average carbonation. Flavour of sweet toffee and some fruit.

Black with dark ivory head. Malt and toast aroma. At taste is balanced with roasted malt flavour.
