Flip-top 500 ml bottle taken Dec 2011 on the balcony of a mates flat by the banks of the Mosel River in Luxembourg, looking across into Germany. The beer pours a dull semi-cloudy amber with an off-white foam topping sat above. The smell was of malts, it has an earthy, bready, yeasty mini aroma as well, more so as the beer warmed in the glass. The taste has a malty sweet front which fades as the hop flavours and bitterness assert themselves. This isn’t a strong flavoured brew, but it does have a decent kellerbier feel to it. Another brew to ‘tick off’ my list of want to try beers before I die (still a huge list).

500mL bottle, purchased at City Beer Pours a light, tarnished copper color with a bit of haze; modest off-white head with patchy retention and lacing. A lightly sweet, caramel and copper penny nose; a twang and some oxidation. Medium body; moderate CO2. Somewhat lifeless: lightly oxidized caramel, restrained sweetness, and a honeyed core. Zwickel! But not a tasty one, at least not now.

500ml Bottle. Appearance is hazy, dark copper color with medium, beige head. Aroma is light with some grains and caramel. Taste is sweet, slight grainy, with caramel notes, and slightly acidic. Palate is medium-bodied, somewhat thin texture, average carbonation, and a semi-dry finish.

Amberkleurig, veel schuim dat snel minder wordt maar gelukkig niet helemaal verdwijnt. Bitterzure smaak en een beetje waterig, weinig nasmaak. Niet geweldig.

Clear dark amber, white head. As with the other Aktien beers, it’s a lot of sweet caramel malts and that’s basically it. 0.5l is way too much.

Amber coloured beer, head should hold some longer. Malts, caramel, fruits and grass. Yeasty, bread, tea. More taste then expected.

Location/Date:Draft at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont, 2/18/2012.

Appearance: Pours a clear copper.
Aroma: Aroma is sweet, lagery.
Taste: Malty, hints of caramel, hay.
Palate:Medium body, low carbonation.

Summary: A decent lager, not as malt forward as the ones I normally prefer(Oktoberfest/marzen styles) but a solid not hop-forward beer.

Draft at Churchkey. Hazy, light brown pour with a fair sized white head. Nose and flavor are marked with bready malt, touches of of date and cinnamon raisin bread, and light caramel. The mouthfeel is a touch thin, but still a fairly nice brew.

Draft. Hazy amber color, huge white head that settles quickly. Aroma of toasted rye bread. Taste is malty with good balance.
