Draft at Laschet’s. Sweet, Franconian beer! Pours a lightly hazed deep amber with an offwhite head. The nose is nice. Sweet and bready malts, faint yeasty notes and some herbal hop notes that provide a nice floral element. On tasting, nice and soft bitterness with a big malt component. Crisp and clean, moderatly sweet, well balanced. Really nice malt profile here. Great beer.

UPDATED: DEC 10, 2011 Bottled at home. Hazy light-brown colored, huge lasting off-white head, beautiful. Aroma has zwickel all over it, very nice, some additional caramel malts. Rather sweet caramel malty flavor, a bit grainy, some bitterness in finish. A bit sweet for the style, but it’s still a very nice easy-going beer. Thanks again to my mother for always bringing me new ratings :-).

Vignale (2184) - Malmö, SWEDEN - NOV 25, 2011
Bottle from barley wine. Pours amber with medium white head. A little yeast in the end. Medium/small nose of white bread, butterflowers and minerals. these are there in the mouth as well along with a nice flowery hop character, medium bitter and a little sweet tone. A well build lager with a rather komplex taste which develops during 6-7 seconds.

Thanks for the bottle Norbert and Julia! Pours a dirty amber with light head and good lacing. Sweet carbonated caramel malt and light yeast. Taste carries nicely to finish. A one-note beer, but easy to drink.

A clear amber colored beer, with a thick, light beige head. The aroma of caramel with sweaty feet. The taste of caramel, some fruits with a little bitter. The aftertaste is sweet and flat.

.5l bottle. Pours a clear medium brown, with lots of carbonation. Smells of sweet malt, and some hops. Tastes of sweet malt, some bread, and some light fruit. The taste wanes a bit as you continue drinking it. Feels light, soft and silky, and finishes slowly with a muted sweetness. I’m actually pretty impressed by it, as I was expecting less sweetness -- this is the first of the style that I’ve had.

EithCubes (5088) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 6, 2011
Bottle by 30.05.12. Nose is interesting, nuts and caramel, light earthy toffee, brown sugar and yeast. Lightly hazed copper-chestnut pour with a creamy, rocky off-white head. Thin/watery body has caramel and light roasted grains, touch of toffee but the nuts are gone and there’s a mild fruitiness there, too. Sweet maltiness both makes and breaks this one.

(50cl bottle) Pours a clear amber with medium, white head and lace. Aroma is grainy, bready and slightly sour. Oily texture with medium carbonation, medium body and astringent finish. Taste is slightly sweet and somewhat acidic. Girlfriend says: "I was really afraid as the smell was quite grainy but the taste is nicely mild and flowery."
