COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Serving: from tap at Schultzy’s Sausage. Aroma: lightly hoppy. Appearance: average, rocky, white, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Hazy, dark-yellow body. Taste: lightly acidic initial flavor and finish with short duration. Palate: light body, watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall: great taste and easy to drink.

Not bad at all. I prefer more of a bock, but this is quite good. Slippery mouthfeel. Malt cereal flavor is slightly roasted. A bit of a kick -- hops?

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2008 From bottle in Bayreuth. Poured a very rich looking somewhat cloudy gold with a strong nose of fruits. It came in traditional stone mug so it was difficult to tell exactly what it looked. Very complex aromas, with a hint of smoke. Very hoppy and yeasty in the mouth. Slightly bitter finish. One of the bettter beers I had in my beer tasting odyssey across Germany.

yello/orange morning-pee color, no lasting head, fruity sweet malty nose with a solid background of yeast, no reel balance but a "one of a kind" landbeer, DER zwickl !.

Draft at Laschet’s. Sweet, Franconian beer! Pours a lightly hazed deep amber with an offwhite head. The nose is nice. Sweet and bready malts, faint yeasty notes and some herbal hop notes that provide a nice floral element. On tasting, nice and soft bitterness with a big malt component. Crisp and clean, moderatly sweet, well balanced. Really nice malt profile here. Great beer.

Really great cloudy beer. The only problem is when there’s no good shop around this beer it’s hard to get.

bread, hay, toast, floral, citrus, basement aromas. A very nice and forgiving bear with good hops and malt.

On draught at the Publican.
The beer pours a light amber color with a medium sized well retained head.

The aroma is grassy with some light caramel and citrus. The hops are pretty vibrant in the aroma but they seem more citrusy than herbal & the hay is fairly subdued compared to others I’ve tried in this style.

The flavor is lightly bready and dry with lots of bright noble hoppiness, mildly earthy, and it’s got not much in the way of the caramel from the aroma. The level of bitterness in this beer is really very nice in a crisp lager like this.

The carbonation is just right, the beer is not flat by any means but the sharpness of the hops is allowed to "speak for it’s self" amidst a less than lively carbonation.

I’m glad I ordered this one.
