3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 jerohen (1793) - Bussum, - DEC 3, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2011 Bottled at home. Hazy light-brown colored, huge lasting off-white head, beautiful. Aroma has zwickel all over it, very nice, some additional caramel malts. Rather sweet caramel malty flavor, a bit grainy, some bitterness in finish. A bit sweet for the style, but it’s still a very nice easy-going beer. Thanks again to my mother for always bringing me new ratings :-).

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Pours a ginger colour, with not much of the white headness. Lager smell. Rather refreshing stuff. Like other Kellers, this has a metallic tang, especially on the finish. It also has cereal sweetness and perhaps some honey nut. Thick, slightly different. Tasty lager type beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 7, 2012
Flip-top 500 ml bottle taken Dec 2011 on the balcony of a mates flat by the banks of the Mosel River in Luxembourg, looking across into Germany.
The beer pours a dull semi-cloudy amber with an off-white foam topping sat above.
The smell was of malts, it has an earthy, bready, yeasty mini aroma as well, more so as the beer warmed in the glass.
The taste has a malty sweet front which fades as the hop flavours and bitterness assert themselves. This isn’t a strong flavoured brew, but it does have a decent kellerbier feel to it.
Another brew to ‘tick off’ my list of want to try beers before I die (still a huge list).
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 kmweaver (3046) - Santa Rosa, California, USA - MAR 28, 2012
500mL bottle, purchased at City Beer Pours a light, tarnished copper color with a bit of haze; modest off-white head with patchy retention and lacing. A lightly sweet, caramel and copper penny nose; a twang and some oxidation. Medium body; moderate CO2. Somewhat lifeless: lightly oxidized caramel, restrained sweetness, and a honeyed core. Zwickel! But not a tasty one, at least not now.
